"When too many immigrants from another culture come here and settle in one area, they tend to reconstitute their own culture rather than assimilating."

I grew up in NYC in the 1930's. There were Italian areas also Irish, German, Chinese, Black, Jewish, Polish. Towns had an Irish Church along with an Italian, and maybe Polish. There was no assimilation until they had children. Their children married each other [one man, one woman in those days]. BTW the public school helped because only English was taught.

American institutions rest solely on good citizenship. They were created by people who had a background of self-government. New arrivals should be limited to our capacity to absorb them into the ranks of good citizenship.

America must be kept American. For this purpose it is necessary to continue a policy of restricted immigration. It would be well to make such immigration of a selective nature with some inspection at the source, and based either on a prior census or upon the record of naturalization. Either method would insure the admission of those with the largest capacity and best intention of becoming citizen.

Those who do not want to be partakers of the American spirit ought not to settle in America.

“from which countries?”

Every immigrant I have spoken with has been seeking an education and higher paying job or just a higher paying job—wanting to improve their future by increasing their earnings. Rarely do they understand traditional, Constitutional American principles.

If you tie, in the minds of the immigrant, economic success to the traditional American system of freedom, you can take in any immigrant who is willing to leave their past life behind in order to find freedom and opportunity. When the immigrant only seeks a higher paying job, he or she may not make the connection with the American system and may be perfectly happy with a “benevolent” govt that gives you things. When they prioritize the traditional, Constitutional American system of freedom, you have an immigrant who will restore and sustain America’s greatness.

Immigrants vote pro-abortion. Therefore, they have no right to immigrate. Nobody has the right to enter someone else’s country and proceed to kill the inhabitants.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops support more immigration. They are, therefore, an objectively pro-abortion organization. If they get their way, abortion will remain the law of the land until it leads to its natural consequence of bringing the United States to an end.

My filipina wife and all the filipina’s we know (5 .. I know, not a lot) .. can’t stand that naygro (phonetic pronunciation), so I wonder .. what is “Asian” in this report ?

My Filipina wife does like Odumbo, and neither do her friends, so I also wonder who they are referring to.

“More immigration will lead to Republicans losing control of Congress and the Governors’ offices, in addition to making it even harder for Republicans to win the Presidency. “

You have to understand this. The GOP doesn’t CARE what we think! They have replaced we natives with another constituency who they are more able to manipulate with bribes, who don’t care about sovereignty.
This is the ‘modern Republican’ party, as Grover Norquist puts it. There is no place for conservatism in it and they call the rest of us ‘bitter enders’, ‘offensive’, racists’ and whatever it takes to marginalize us.

The only people the GOP recognizes is liberals and illegal aliens. They say aliens have to ‘get at the end of the line’...I got news for ya...it is US who is at the end of the line.

How many per year?

“There are too many foreigners here as it is. Send them all back.”

Under the draft of the new ‘it’s not amnesty!’, not only will they get to stay, but the ones they’ve deported already now will get to come back! I know! I didn’t believe it, either.

We are in the trouble we are in because of LEGAL immigration. We have imported over 40 million people from mostly the third world since 1965 & it’s these immigrants who mostly vote for democrats that have lost the GOP state after state. Most illegal immigrants don’t vote.

If we go back to letting in 200,000 people a year instead of over one million per year we can start to slow down this mess. LEGAL immigration is killing the GOP cause most of the immigrants are voting democrat....that’s a simple fact.

Immigration has nothing to do with it, its welfare and special ethic perks of “Affirmative Action”.

If your a minority it litterly pays to vote democrat.

...we have had enough of all forms of immigration to last us 100 years. Time for whats here to assimilate.

I agree with you and Ansel. We've absorbed far too many foreigners, too fast, for them to properly assimilate into our culture. They're actually changing America into a foreign nation - one that isn't rooted to the foundations which produced that which they're drawn to.

I'd be happy to see America close its borders to immigration of all kinds for at least twenty years, so that the current immigrants can assimilate to us - not the other way around.

“The Republican Party has emerged as its own worst enemy and, IMO, is beyond and not worth saving.

Conservatives should start looking elsewhere for another political party we can support; one that supports and stands behind the Constitution as the Founding Fathers intended. “

They won’t even drop the Repub registration! And the GOP knows it. They know no matter what they pull, how far to the left they go, that most republicans will follow like good little drones. If enough people changed to ‘not affiliated’ the GOP would get the message, but they won’t!

“The issue is not “immigration” it is “assimilation”. Look, GOP, if I wanted to live in Mexico or some *stan, I would move there. When too many immigrants from another culture come here and settle in one area, they tend to reconstitute their own culture rather than assimilating. This seem especially true with Muslims. If I am wrong, then please someone, speak up.

If someone wants to move here, my main concern then stems from some groups giving the appearance that they want to seize part of the US and make it their own little island of culture. I only have to look at “The Race” (la Raza) for a prime example. If you want to live in Mexico, don’t move here and try to recreate Mexico here, and especially don’t demand that I pay for it.”

BTT!

Legal immigration needs to be reduced...we do not need extra labor with so many not fully employed. Immigration always leads to more money spent on government programs

All Illegal Aliens need to be DEPORTED. Marco Rubio and the MS-8 are going to kill the GOP

Right about legal immigrants. Since most of them are from the third world, they are eligible for all types of benefits. I have a group of Viet Namese next door that all work for a restaurant owned by a relative and my guess they are paid in cash and I know they get food stamps, medicaid, etc.
Every immigrant that voted in my polling place voted RAT as far as I could see because who wouldn’t if you came from a third world hell hole and got free food? I had to stand next to the voting machine to make sure they inserted the ballot properly and could see the straight D votes. Disgusting.

Yup....people need to understand that it’s this massive LEGAL immigration form the third world since 1965 that has sunk the GOP. The new amnesty bill in congress will also bring in at least 500,000 more LEGAL immigrants a year....we are being replaced as a voting block folks.

I like that idea, AuntB. Let's start a trend to get discouraged (or fed up!) Republicans to drop their party affiliation and see if Reince gets the message!!

Also go full bore against businesses that hire illegals and make them self deport with no way to earn a living.

Eliminate all welfare, food stamps, housing, and medical for illegals.

Make them die in the street or go home!
