Westboro Baptist, allies with Wahabbist Islamic Extremists.
22 On that day many will say to me, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? 23 And then will I declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.
Matthew 7:22-23
English Standard Version (ESV)
Who needs Satan, we have them on every street corner........but Lord we did miracles in your name..........Right!
They will need a lot of protection if some Southies show up to ‘talk them out of’ their protest.
Then you'll see some fireworks..
I often wonder what the 50 or so members of this church do for a living...
They seem to have so much time going to other states to protest.
Evil, mean people.
So... was Elias wrong then?
Let’s be clear about two things:
1. They are not Baptist is any sense of the word and according to traditional Baptist beliefs;
2. they are not a church by standard definition.
What they are is a cult - the Westboro Cult!
> So... was Elias wrong then?
Are Christians supposed to be like Elias or like Jesus?
“Are Christians supposed to be like Elias or like Jesus?”
You’re dodging the question. Was Elias wrong? All of the New Testament hangs upon the authority of the Old Testament. Paul said the Old Testament was good for preaching and teaching.
So again: was Elias wrong?
This group is so evil they must be a front group paid for by George Soros ro the Southern Poverty Law Center. There’s a liberal stench about them.
> Youre dodging the question.
Not at all.
That is the HEART of the matter.
Remember also that Elias (Elijah) was acting in self-defence. His life was in immediate danger when the soldiers were coming for him and he called fire down from Haven to consume them.
The only other time I can remember that Elijah called fire down from Heaven was when he asked God to consume his sacrifice in the presence of the priests of Baal and their fellow idolaters.
Are you familiar with the Sermon on the Mount?
In any event, perhaps you should read it again.
I also object to people calling these fools a “Baptist”Church
Interesting how GOD always tells the Westboro Church that killing and terrorism committed on our troops and civilians are God’s Judgement, yet, GOD has never asked the Westboro Church to commit such acts....
“In any event, perhaps you should read it again.”
Nope, I think we understand each other now. I just grow tired of some people basically dismissing the Old Testament and indicating that Jesus was some kind of I’m OK, You’re OK “Buddy Christ”. Jesus had no problem with wrath at times.
Luke 6:
27 But I say to you that hear: Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you. 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them that calumniate you. 29 And to him that striketh thee on the one cheek, offer also the other. And him that taketh away from thee thy cloak, forbid not to take thy coat also. 30 Give to every one that asketh thee, and of him that taketh away thy goods, ask them not again. 31 And as you would that men should do to you, do you also to them in like manner. 32 And if you love them that love you, what thanks are to you? for sinners also love those that love them. 33 And if you do good to them who do good to you, what thanks are to you? for sinners also do this. 34 And if you lend to them of whom you hope to receive, what thanks are to you? for sinners also lend to sinners, for to receive as much. 35 But love ye your enemies: do good, and lend, hoping for nothing thereby: and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the sons of the Highest; for he is kind to the unthankful, and to the evil. 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. 37 Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you shall be forgiven. 38 Give, and it shall be given to you: good measure and pressed down and shaken together and running over shall they give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you shall mete withal, it shall be measured to you again.
So ...
I say: May God grant these Westboro people the grace of repentance and conversion. May He enkindle in their hearts the fire of the Holy Spirit, that they may give Glory to God in all that they do.
