Med schools teaching courses on LGBT patient care
The Seattle Times ^ | April 14, 2013 | Don Sapatkin

PHILADELPHIA — Take five or 10 minutes, the professor said, and write down things that you love, like, need or enjoy.

Now pair up with someone you don’t know and spend 20 minutes introducing yourself. Talk about whatever you want. But don’t mention anything that you wrote down.

Try going on for a half-hour without a word about the most important things in life. Imagine a full day.

“It might be difficult,” said instructor Robin Brennan. “That’s what this course is about. That is just a glimpse of what it is like for somebody who is LGBT” — lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

The course is about LGBT health disparities, many of which — such as higher-than-average rates of suicide, drug addiction and smoking — are linked to greater stress. Fear of sharing personal information, even with a doctor, doesn’t help.

Righto. I have people who’ve been friends for many years, and I’ve never discussed my sex life or sexual preferences with them.

The oddest thing about this article is its assumption that for “gay” people their sexuality is the most important thing in their life.

That said, gay people (men, anyway) should discuss their sex life with their HCPs because of the multiple additional health risks and challenges such a lifestyle creates.

1. Take out the Transgenders and what is the Suicide rate?

My guess is not as high, but still higher than normals.

Added emphasis is well done, it highlights that this is certainly a mental illness, not some politically fashionable statement.

Homosexuals are suffering from a disorder, not lack of understanding and compassion............

They'll say the poor health is OUR fault for not accepting sodomy. In fact, my very use of the word "sodomy" is judgmental, full of hate, and divisive. No wonder homosexuals are stressed, eh? Now if I happen to mention that sodomy itself is an unnatural, high risk sexual activity that shouldn't be done, then I've went beyond hatred into oppressive, Nazi-like behavior.

There's really only one way to make the homosexuals feel better about their perverted, abnormal sex acts (sorry, there I go hating again). It involves silencing people like me. Oh, we might be permitted to say homosexuality is a sin in the privacy of our homes (so long as no impressionable children are around of course--that would be child abuse). But we must not be permitted to spew such hatred in public!

Homosexuality is strongly correlated with early death.

(for good reasons)

Make sure you wear your PPE and be extra-careful with the blood samples.

Course over.

My last conversation with my doctor went like this:

“I thought I just stubbed my toe, but now that the whole foot is all black and blue, perhaps I should get an xray or something”.

I didn’t think that was too revealing personally.

The Leftists need to compile and codify all their PC crap into a book. It could be the Sharia law for Leftists. Totalitarians think alike.

Is this sarcasm or some strange joke on your part? You’re a guy...right? That photo of you on your homepage is you in drag.

So. Confused.

I do it every day. My wife, my Church, several other things are most important to me but I do not talk about them all day long. This is just silly nonsense to spread the homosexual agenda

Well living a life of sin as a pervert is likely very stressful but you gotta live with the choices you make or change them...........

I know one homosexual man - anyone on FR would consider him a good guy, if they didn’t take the sexual orientation into account. Never triggered my gaydar except that he had no awareness of me as a woman. It took him about two years to mention a friend of his and another year before I realized that friend lived with him as his partner. In that time I must have mentioned my husband a few dozen times. Maybe it is hurtful if you can never mention someone dear to you, but that was his choice; most homosexuals I know are pretty open about it; they mention a partner by name early on.

Other people might have loved ones they can’t mention either, a mistress, a second wife, a secret child - might want to see before they die in the hospital, but can’t upset their first family.

so they are still doing this type of indoctrination in medical school? Nothing new.

I always lied when they asked me to bare my soul, and later I usually arranged for the nurses to page me with an “emergency”.

As for “not talking about” things: Well, some of us go days without talking about our sex life to strangers. Big deal.
