US police have arrested a beggar who allegedly set a man on fire outside a convenience store because he didn’t give him money.
The 37-year-old beggar reportedly approached his victim as he got out of his car at a California 7-Eleven store and asked him for money, US network ABC reported yesterday.
The 63-year-old man refused to give him money and walked into the shop.
When the man left the store and got into his car the beggar doused him and the inside of the vehicle with a flammable substance and lit it on fire.
"With the door open you could see the entire insides were ablaze," a witness told Good Morning America.
"He came out and he was horrifying. His entire shirt was on fire, his head was on fire."
The victim was rushed to hospital with third degree burns and is in a critical condition.

That’s what I thought. A few years back there was a man in New York and he killed his apartment manager in the elevator. He was dressed like an exterminator although his head was not covered and he sprayed her with a liquid and then set her on fire it was caught on tape in the elevator he was black.
In those circumstances, even if armed, I’m not sure if the target (any target) would have realized the danger in time...
Once you’re burning, it’s really hard to defend yourself.
I guess you mean if the victim was black it would be a hate crime because he was made to turn on his own people by the usual nefarious individuals, who must be sought out and punished. That’s about where we’re at.
And its obvious this black guy had been planning to set a white person on fire for a while. He had his matches and gasoline ready to go. All he needed was a white person to diss him to give him the excuse to light up a white guy.

The poor guy is one year younger than me and I am sure that I would not have made it through this attack.
While it seems that a firearm wouldn’t have changed the outcome, this is one more reason that I NEVER leave my home without my CC, NEVER.

A close family friend, white in his 60's, waiting at a bus stop not far from our home was set upon by several black punks. They doused him with some gasoline and set him afire. Barely survived. Third degree burns over much of his upper body, endured a couple years of skin grafts and therapy but lost use of one arm. He would often take my hand to his neck, telling me I was rubbing his ass because that's where the skin graft came from. White victim, black perps.
From another direction: After seeing someone do that to another human being, how could you, a witness to the crime, be justified in not blowing the perp’s brains out? He was, after all, in the act of using deadly force against someone, and was even eyeing you or someone else quite menacingly, with his lighter fluid and lighter in hand, you’d say.
