Do you oppose President Obama's gun control proposals? Well then, you must not be against gun violence. So suggested a guest this morning on the new MSNBC show, Up With Steve Kornacki.
Leah Gunn Barrett [insert wisecrack on middle name here], of "New Yorkers Against Gun Violence," was trying to explain away why Second Amendment advocates do so well politically. According to her, gun "enthusiasts" are single-issue voters with good grassroots organization. In contrast, "people who are against gun violence" aren't as well organized.

OK, I never knew the ACLU were gun enthusiasts. False comparisons and alternatives are the stock and trade of propagandists.
I go out looking for the Hitler quote on guns. Couldn’t find it anywhere. No biggy since I am assuming the left spent many hours scrubbing every Hitler quote on the web.
So I find this site called “StraightDope”. Apparently they are also a left wing site and they went off on the NRA for manufacturing quotes. By the way, I have the over/under on when they are going to label me a troll and ban me from the site is 30 minutes. Anyone want in on the actions?

Now if we take Obama’s quotes in “Dreams of my Father”, his relationship with Bill Ayers and others from Chicago’s Marxist roots, his teaching of Saul Alinsky, Obama’s mentor, Frank Davis and other ties, could we safely assume that this is a gun grab to prevent Americans from arming themselves?

I love gun violence when it is committed in self defense of person, family and property. And gun violence is great when used against murderous, tyrannical governments. Yes there are times when gun violence is tragic and heartbreaking, but none of that equals the tragedy of helpless citizens confronted with criminal gangs, social collapse and leftist crazies. The good of gun violence far outweighs the bad.
MSNBC and their thirteen remining viewers are very happy together.

I am an enthusiast. As one of the 47% who are pro-freedom enthusiasts, I would like to remind the pro-socialism serfs against gun violence that they do not get a vote on our God-given rights.

Good post. I still can’t understand why this wasn’t viral in 2008, as if being a communist is not a bad thing anymore.
I also can’t understand why Obama isn’t identified as a communist. What would a communist do in his position that he isn’t now? What claims and views would a communist have that Obama hadn’t claimed? What background would a typical communist have that Obama hasn’t? (father, mother, friends, and associates, all communist)
And name one thing that Obama has or would do that a free market capitalist would...
Call it what it is... If it walks like a communist, quacks like a communist, and craps like a communist, then by every measure it must be our President.
What he did say, seven years later, was this: “The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. I agree. But the quote in the earlier post isn’t true. And we don’t quote things that aren’t accurately sources.
The left holds that against us and with a complicit media, we look bad.
