North Korea Launch Zone Found
The Washington Free Beacon ^ | April 11, 2013 | Bill Gertz

Posted on 04/11/2013 1:12:32 PM PDT by SatinDoll

U.S. and allied intelligence agencies have identified the launch zone on North Korea’s east coast...

The North Koreans recently began fueling two road-mobile Musudan intermediate-range ballistic missiles located along the east coast between the cities of Wonsan and Hamhung,..

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said in addition to the 2,500-mile-range Musudans the North Koreans could conduct test firings of several 620-mile-range Nodong missiles and shorter-range Scuds simultaneously as a way to thwart U.S. missile defenses.

Unlike earlier launches, the North Koreans are not expected to provide advance warning of the timing for the launches, such as announcing a sea and air closure zone, because of heightened U.S. and Japanese missile defenses.

The Pentagon has at least four missile-interceptor ships in the region equipped with SM-3 interceptors. Additionally, long-range interceptors based in Alaska and California are ready to counter any missiles fired toward the United States.

“The United States and Japan are preparing to shoot down the missiles if they fly over Japanese territory or are aimed at U.S. bases in the region,” said one official.

The missile tests would be banned under U.N. Security Council resolutions passed after earlier long-range missile tests by North Korea.

Not much of a scoop, though, we’ve been discussing the same info for days, including the launch zone. Gertz needs to get out more.

I suppose that there is at least one military satellite that has been parked over NK for some time. The military knows much more than the would ever talk about.

Why hasn’t Congress passed a resolution granting the President approval for preemptively taking out North Korea’s launch facilities and nuclear weapons production facilities?

1. North Korea has declared it will strike the U.S.
2. We grant the President approval for a preemptive strike
against North Korea.

I don’t know why Congress hasn’t passed such a resolution: perhaps it is dysfunctional. That would be my guess.

Boehner and McConnell seem to be flummoxed all the time.

And who really believes anyway, that BHO2 would recognize his duty as Commander-in-Chief, comply and fire-off a preemptive strike against fellow Marxists?

Keep in mind, folks, that BHO2 stated in his “autobiography” that he was a Marxist-Leninist while attending Occidental College. There are former students who were there at the same time, were acquainted with him and who verify the claim.

A study just completed by the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency says North Korea may have nuclear weapons that could be delivered by ballistic missiles, a congressman said Thursday.

The revelation came from Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colorado, during a House Intelligence Committee hearing.

"Quoting from the unclassified portion, which I believe has not yet been made public, they say, quote, 'DIA assesses with moderate confidence the North currently has nuclear weapons capable of delivering by ballistic missiles. However, the reliability will be low.'" Lamborn told Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, who was testifying before the committee.

Lamborn asked Dempsey if he agreed with the assessment. Dempsey appeared to be caught off guard.

"Well, I haven't seen it," Dempsey replied. "And you said it's not publicly released, so I -- I choose not to comment on it."

If NK tries for Guam we and they each get a test.

They test their missle.

We test our defense against missles.

Guam hoping for a good outcome.

““The United States and Japan are preparing to shoot down the missiles if they fly over Japanese territory or are aimed at U.S. bases in the region,” said one official.”

This is what bugs me. Why the condition? Why don’t we tell them that anything leaving the ground and going up will be shot down. It is MUCH, MUCH, easier to shoot these things down at the beginning of their ride, than trying to hit them at Mach 10 (or whatever) as they prepare to strike a (hopefully Blue) city.
