More proof that registration leads to confiscation.

The guys here at work are asking if aderall is also on the list of drugs that’ll get one’s guns taken away.
Anyone know?

Apparently being put on some of these same meds for nerve pain is verboten then if one wants to defend themselves in an efficacious way since they are otherwise physically disabled and unable to do so?

You would deny a physically disabled person their second amendment rights because they are on things like cymbalta or other psychotropic meds it seems.

I appreciate knowing who my enemies are...

I moved out of New York city last year, and I grew up there. It’s a despotic state now, and I say that with all seriousness. When liberals argue “We don’t need a 2nd amendment because tyranny can never happen in the USA” and tell them “Go visit New york city and tell that me again.”

I don’t know what all Rx drugs are on their list (assuming they’re not making it up as they go) but I think the bigger point to see here is that any excuse will do. As an example there is the story about the guy who had all of his guns confiscated because his young son threatened another kid with a squirt gun.

You nailed it there, sir.

This is a disaster for mental health, as well. That depressed farmed who just lost his wife will not seek treatment for depression for fear that the government will take his weapons.

Not seeking treatment may actually INCREASE the number of suicides by gun.

I think a very big point is being totally overlooked regarding this discussion, how are they cross referencing someone on a prescribed drug with a person who holds a FID and owns a weapon?

This is the tip of the sword, several agencies gathering information on different areas of your life is now being assembled under your profile. You are no longer a citizen, you will be categorized, labeled, and assigned duties. Resist and some jack booted thug with no neck will be happy to show you who's boss.

The irony of this all is that those that take certain medications as prescribed are actually improving any health issues that they may have and would be less likely to do something crazy. In NY you can’t force a mentally ill, schizophrenic, psychotic individual to take any medication by law. But these people can go out and buy illegal guns to kill you with. But if you’ve had some concentration or anxiety issues and are perfectly harmless but did the right thing and treated it, your guns can be taken away.

So I guess the moral of this story is: if you live in NY and suddenly feel the need to go postal, don’t seek treatment if you own a gun. The law will actually encourage gun owners who develop mental illness to not seek treatment.

“This is why we can never allow them to win! “

They have already won and just are starting their Nazi like sweep to confiscate guns and render the 2nd Amendment moot.

As those who supported the 2nd never drew a line in the sand the left has been free to keep pushing and pushing until they succeeded in going past the point of no return.

It is downright amazing an Amendment which singles out itself by stating unequivocally “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” is infringed on a daily basis by just about every level of government AND WE DO NOTHING so why should the commies on the left be afraid. They won!

Christianity and Mental Health

In the November/December 1987 issue of The Humanist magazine, a psychotherapist, Dr. Wendell Watters, explains how he believes Christianity may harm mental health. This is not a new charge. The followers of Christ have been accused of mental illness before (Acts 26:24; 2 Cor. 5:13), and even the founder of Christianity Himself was charged with being out of His mind (Mk. 3:21; Jn. 10:20). People tend to make this accusation when they find the doctrines of Christianity hard to accept. The following is a response to various views this humanist sets forth in his treatise on “Christianity and Mental Health.” (The page numbers refer to the article.)

Proselytization

Dr. Watters discusses what he says are two powerful manipulative tools of the church: proselytization and dualism. Concerning proselytization or evangelization, he states that the Great Commission (Mt. 28:19, 20) caused “… a frenzied commitment to spreading the good news and winning new converts—a commitment that was foreign to all other religions” (p. 6). He says that after Constantine’s conversion the church employed methods of torture to persuade people to be converted. Dr. Watters believes the impetus for torturous methods of persuasion were initiated by Paul:

Christians will be considered mentally ill. Just wait. We are already considered terrorists.

According to the article, one of the cases took place in Erie County.

On January 24, 2013 the Erie County Sheriff’s PBA unanimously passed a resolution of non-support for the NYS Safe Act.

Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard has been very vocal against the SAFE ACT, so why has he allowed this? Did Erie County deputies take part in these raids or did the Sheriff give permission? If so, he has violated his oath and needs to be held accountable along with the raiders.

Actually SSRIs treat a variety of disorders...

Depression
Generalized anxiety disorder
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
Eating disorders
Stroke recovery
Premature ejaculation

Yes indeed...these are dangerous people....

Exactly, and the people that have shot places up that were taking AD’s MSRI’s or SSRI’s may have been improperly diagnosed, or are not being treated correctly. Or they are just psycho scumbags to begin with.

People like me should not be thrown into that category. I take effexor, because it actually DOES work for me. I have a much easier time controlling my mood swings while taking it, it’s a wonderful drug, and it has helped me a lot.

I have heard many times the left calling conservatives “mentally ill”. Right here on FR I routinely read conservatives labeling liberals as such. Both view points cannot be factual, but WHO is setting the policies which define mental illness is where the slope gets slippery. Presently we are faced with anti-Americans elected and appointed defining all kinds of policies and who don’t give a whit about the constitution nor their oaths to it or about what is best for America. It won’t take them long now to declare conservatives can’t own guns under whatever guise they wish. So, let’s preempt them and pass a law in every state as the 10A provides for that declares all who are demonstrably anti-constiutional cannot own weapons, run for any elected office or vote, nor work as a journalist. Those who can repeat the pledge of allegiance from memory without reservation and are not felons get their 2A rights. Those who believe 9 rounds are enough and 11 are too many, don’t. What?, I am still free enough to dream. :)

Let’s not forget both of the Marxist Clintons who gave us HIPPA.

HIPPA, while it pretended to protect patient privacy, actually enabled the sharing of health and medical information across many federal bureaucratic departments.

I moved out of there last year, I couldn’t take it anymore. It’s like North Korea there now, but with food. I wouldn’t even say it’s a socialist republic, it’s more of a despotic state at least in New York city under despot Mike Bloomberg. The city controls every aspect of the individuals life and the constitution is completely non-existent. People make fun of the soda, smoking, eating ban, I tell them that is the LEAST of what goes on in that city.

They know the drill. Start with so called "anti-depressants" and move to other drugs. Coffee is considered a drug. Alcohol, Nicotine, aspirins, you name it.

These people are tyrants and they know no boundaries. That is until they meet a piece of lead head on traveling a 2000 FPS.

a handful of nutcase shrinks said a man pushing another mans feces back up his ass was normal and now these loons will decide who can have a gun!!!!!!!!!!!

Many shrinks are liberal loons who have no idea about the real world and yet for the left they can decide who has a gun.

Either these socialist states break away or common sense had better get back to this country and if the country did break then many on the right can stay with their pals who they want to reach out with , after all they always like ot reach out

So, the local cops knock on your door and say “We have reason to believe you or your wife takes anti-depressants. We have a warrant to search your house for weapons. Everything we find will be confiscated. And that includes steak knives.”

I hear people say they’ll fight it out. How many on here will really defy the authorities?

Feinstein wants it both ways. She says ordinary citizens should not have an AR-15 because they are not trained in how to use it. She says veterans should not have an AR-15 because they *are* trained in how to use it. And she makes the weak accusation that veterans are likely to have PTSD. If you can’t trust a veteran to handle a gun, who can you trust?

Doesn’t matter in 20 years no one will have or own a gun of any kind, Except LEOs or FEDS! And I’ll be gone so no matter for me as well. The present however is a different story!
IT’s funny My Fathers generation was able to make sure our rights were secure! Even the Baby boomers to a certain extent!
I pity the fools that will have to bow down to the Communist that are taking this Country by chopping away at Citizen’s rights little by little and the new Generation standing in a stuper just waiting for the next Giant Leap For Libtards!
OF all the countries in the World the USA has liberated in the name of Freedom, that this Nation may need to be Liberated itself! But who will help! Silence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

” the gun banners must be consistent and we must require them to be so. They can’t be allowed to claim that the drugs had nothing to do with the shootings and then simultaneously claim that all who take them must surrender their guns.”

If we had a free, independent news media, they would be asking questions like that. But we don’t so such questions are never raised.
