Sources Report Senate Republicans Caving on Guns
Red State ^ | 4/9/2013 | Erick Erickson

Posted on 04/10/2013 5:57:05 AM PDT by IbJensen

Sources inside the Senate tell me that the Republican Conference is scared to death of the tactics of Senators Lee, Cruz and Paul – that it is supposedly putting them in a tough spot.

Several of the Republicans are using the Manchin-Toomey compromise plan as an excuse to cave on the gun filibuster. They claim that Senators Lee, Cruz, and Paul are running ahead of the conference in their insistence on a filibuster.

What they fail to see is that the cloture vote is the vote to stop the gun legislation from passage.

Several Republican Senators intend to vote against the filibuster, but then vote against the overall bill. This is too clever by half. The GOP does not control the Senate as the GOP is want to say every time they don’t want to fight.

Their only power to block a gun control bill is to unite and filibuster.

Voting for cloture is voting for the gun control bill because, again, as the GOP reminds us, they are not in the majority. The only way to stop it is to filibuster.

Senator "Establishment Partnership to combat Conservatism" McCain is leading the charge.

McCain, the infamous hoarse whisperer along with his Senate pals, has become RINO pondscum. Juan, et al, is unworthy of anything but approbation from real Americans and is a disgrace to his office and the State he supposedly represents.

He, and his Rino admirers, cheapens the sacrifice of every soldier that ever fought for this Nation. His accomplishments while a U. S. Navy officer are destroying several expensive aircraft while grandstanding and being captured after his last crash by the North Vietnamese. He has since returned to Vietnam to kiss their asses.

These people are amazingly weak. Rand Paul’s last filibuster did more to bolster the Republican reputation than any other effort in 10 years. Not even a close second. These incompetent leaders need to be removed.

When this asshats finally come to realize they are NOT going to win elections in most of the northeast and decide to vote with the voice of the remainder of the country they will cease being useful idiots.

All they need to do is simply say if you want to change the second amendment, there is a provision to do it...go ahead. Passing laws limiting an inalienable right are not just unconstitutional, they are demonic.

We’re all anti-constitution, anti-American, anti-individual, anti-life, pro-tyranny socialists/totalitarians now? DEPOPULATE every one of them from the body politic. Enough of their socialist-engineering agenda. BIG GOVERNMENT IS CRONY SOCIALISM.

In the debates, these points need to be made repeatedly:

Mandatory Background checks accomplish NOTHING to impede crime or the criminal.

Limiting Magazine Capacity does NOTHING to impede the criminal, or make citizens safer.

So, WHY are these measures being pushed so hard?
Who would benefit from these restrictions?

ONLY a Fascist government, attempting to manage an advantage over it’s citizenry would benefit.

Those supporting the filibuster are the very ones who are doing the right thing. Those people will be rewarded since they are representing the constitution. They must be encouraged to soldier on and to be brave. As we know, anytime there is a piece of important legislation, the McCain rino types cave to agree with the liberals. Why even be in the republican party. They need to be removed at some point. This would not be happening if not for the Snows and McCains and the others alike. Now, friction because the speaker is not conservative enough to unite the fractions like the corrupt democrats seem to always do.

What part of "...shall not be infringed." is so hard to comprehend?

What part of "...support and defend the Constitution of the United States..." is so hard to remember?

I CAN'T STAND THESE FOOLS ON THE HILL!

They have no RIGHT to even suggest or debate changing the Second Amendment.

No guts. No principles. No fortitude. For sale to the highest bidder - definition of a Senator (R). They allow the AC in the WH to continue his ascension to the throne for promises of cash sent to their states.

I guess we are just going to have to conceal the weaponry we already have, and find non-conventional ways to resist when the physical search for them begins in earnest.

Crossbows with a large supply of fleches, machetes and various rigged IED road mines, using the example the Taliban and al-Qaeda have set, may be the way this will be nullified. If the cost to subjugate the wider part of the territory once known as “the United States of America” is too high, the would-be emperor and his minions will retreat to their “safe” enclaves.

Because they marched in very conspicuous fashion, it was easy to spot and track the British Redcoats during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, while the Americans could rely on their knowledge of the terrain and lay ambushes at critical points while the Redcoats were moving.

At the very least, containing the oppressors in their bunkers, and starving them out, will eventually cause them to surrender.
