Did ya? Truly? Or was it a compromise by comparison, that got carried away by actionable events? I absolutely did not want to, but had to vote for W, both times. Sicken me, to no end. I would love to have a real choice, before my days are done. Before Our Country is done, forever over the falls...

Yeah, but the media and the Democrats (but I repeat myself) told us for eight years that George W. Bush was a complete moron who knew absolutely nothing about governing.

Now they want us to think he was CORRECT???

Ha.

GW Bush was a very mixed bag policywise, but overall was detrimental to conservative values. He has/had his good qualities as a man, unlike the present occupant, and was unfairly vilified by the left since he was actually somewhat like an oldschool democrat and quite lavish disbursing the contents of the treasury on liberal causes. As his administration wore on, and the writing on the wall became clearer, it also became harder for conservatives to defend and rally behind him, and caused a lot of sparks right here on FR. Yet he was “our guy” who, along with Karl Rove, saved us from a worse Gore or Kerry administration. His main failings were the lack of clear vision in terms of an end-game policy on the “war on terror”, the establishment of a (another) domestic spying agency with sweeping powers whilst pushing for amnesty, some political cowardice in fiscal matters, and lacking a clearly defined heir-apparent if you will with a vision for the future, which combined like a perfect storm resulting in the nightmare we have now.

Why wouldn’t we believe it? George W and his Dad did a lot to stomp on conservatism. Now Jeb Bush thinks he’s going to get a chance to carry on the mission.

"Don’t believe it?"

Who ever accused Bush #43 of being a conservative? I certainly didn't. He might have been more conservative than Gore or Kerry, but that didn't make him into a conservative.

Don't fall for the media's doings to get us sidetracked. We had no one else to vote for. We all were disgusted with John Kerry ( due to his solidarity to the enemies of our nation as today) and also the guy who held the nation hostage for chads to be recounted by party operatives and alike was no figure that we could admire. Yes, Bush caused us problems for not being conservative by following Rove’s manual. (so we have good reasons to distrust Rove and ro be upset with both Bushes). Now, we have to stay on top of what's here and fire the liberal republicans if they will not represent us.

“Bush” is a Republican?
Not hardly.
There’s a LONG history of backstabbing here—starting with that “kinder, gentler” bit in his damn INAUGRIAL ADDRESS.

...........and downhill from there.

and lacking a clearly defined heir-apparent if you will with a vision for the future,

I've often thought how neither Bush chose a running mate who was likely to become a strong presidential contender in the future.

Quayle was treatly unfairly by the press and did well in some ways, but when it was annouced that GHWB had selected him the reaction was: Dan who?

Then W picked Cheney who was a strong VP, but few if any thought he'd ever be a presidential candidate for health reasons.

The failure of a presidential candidate to pick a strong running mate who can become a presidential candidate is a serious failing and damages a party's future prospects. I think both these Bush failings were intentional, both cases of putting personal preferences ahead of the good of the party and the nation.

You might have thought he was a conservaive. I never did. I believe I was frequently excoriated by Bush toe licking crowd here on FR for saying he was a moderate at best and a liberal republican most of the time. Remember the fawning, estrogen fueled, low information, low intelligence "day in the life of" posts? There was a severe lack of critical thinking on this forum when it came to Bush.

With Bush and the Republican Party, everything is in Bizzoro world.

Hot is cold. Up is down. Conservative is liberal. Masculine is feminine. Freedom is slavery and a whole host of things that they perceive.

No wonder they lose every bill they introduce and freely give up the concept of 3 branches of government.

“Bushy boy” and his family simply thought it was time that they could keep the presidency within the family...so to speak...and they are still trying!

Never forget that “bushy junior” was the spawn of a true-blue democrat father who changed parties to get the opportunity to be elected president.

GWB is a decent man? but let’s face it his incompetency led to the commie takeover by Bam. GWB never ever vetoed spending by the RATS. When the campaign finance bill came before him he signed it saying it was unconstitutional and that the SCOTUS would correct it.......not! And we can’t forget old man “no new taxes Bush” who led us to Bill Lewinsky. As Jesse Jackson so aptly said “out da Bushs”!

Yeah, I remember. he also resigned from the NRA. And then he got thrown out of office by a degenerate buffoon named Clinton.

Did you notice that the post is about George W. Bush? You are talking about his father, George H. W. Bush.
