President Obama has been calling Republican and Democratic senators on Tuesday to discuss the gun-control vote, a White House official said.
Obama is expected to reach out to between half a dozen to a dozen senators in all, the official said.
The White House would not provide the call list, so it's unclear whether Obama is reaching out to Republican senators who have promised to filibuster gun-control legislation.
As part of the lobbying effort, Obama is telling senators that gun-control legislation "deserves a vote," the official said. The president is expected to reiterate his message in recent days that Congress has an obligation to the victims of the school shooting in Newtown, Conn., to consider new restrictions on guns.

The reason there are so few prosecutions is the prevalence of "false positives" -- background checks submitted with mistakes in them or that were misread. Something over 90% of them pass muster if they're re-submitted with complete and correct data.

Feinstein and Boxer - California sucks politically speaking. On top of those two, we have Pelosi. California has been in the control of the DemoncRATS for 30+ years, and now they have complete legislative control with respect to state offices. GOP held offices are few and far between.
And don’t forget the *choke* Senator from Nevada, who is so crooked he will have to be corkscrewed into his grave...

As a 3rd generation native of San Diego, I used to have Feinstein and Boxer, which grated on me to no end. Two Leftie women from NY for CA U.S. Senators!!! Illinois is almost as bad, but not quite. I’d trade Boxer for Kirk.
He/his handlers know they don’t have the supposed 70-90% public support. If they did, they would have passed it by now. All the laws that have passed have been ECerts, the WH is in full panic mode.
