Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s reelection campaign asked the FBI and the U.S. attorney’s office on Tuesday to investigate how Mother Jones magazine obtained a recording of a February strategy session.

“Senator McConnell’s campaign is working with the FBI and has notified the local U.S. Attorney in Louisville, per FBI request, about these recordings,” McConnell campaign manager Jesse Benton said in a statement. “Obviously a recording device of some kind was placed in Senator McConnell’s campaign office without consent. By whom and how that was accomplished presumably will be the subject of a criminal investigation.”

Secret recordings.

Nixon did that, but it sounds like some Dem dirty tricks.

Bring on the investigation.

You’d think the Republicans would have figured out long ago that they ‘Rats are spying on them, and using sophisticated equipment to do so.

Remember the cell phone conversations which were intercepted?

And Romney’s ‘47%’ comment at a private fundraiser.. Dems are morally bankrupt and cannot be trusted anytime, anywhere. One can only imagine how much of our classified information is being leaked to hostile foreign governments. Do we trust this new regime protecting our most sensitive information? Hell no.

Nixon did it by his own choice. A democrat has committed a criminal act here by bugging McConnell office.

I suspect it might have been someone connected with the Obama Administration attempting to blackmail McConnell.

Maybe its a double agent democrat who is pretending to be a Republican, sort of like a RINO. Is Mitch McConnell is bugging himself?

In Romney's case, it was pretty clear from the images in the video that the camera was perched on the bartender's station, highly implicating the bartender (who was probably an SEIU union worker).

In McConnell's situation, he should be screaming bloody murder from the steps of the Capitol, not meekly asking the FBI to investigate. He should be showing firery outrage and demanding answers at the top of his lungs. He should call on Harry Reid as Majority Leader to stand with him to denounce the bugging of any Senator's office, and demand that Reid join him in calling for an investigation.

I do remember that.

Boehner chased McDermott through the courts for years and finally won $1 million.

Don't think McConnell's to blame for this one.

And, yes, there are still many Bush holdovers in the FBI who can investigate.

It doesn’t work that way.

If they are ordered not to investigate, there is little they can do about it.

If evidence is overwhelming, they will be pressured to investigate.

McConnell's got pull. The Senate minority leader does have influence despite rhetoric to the contrary.

Good points.

I guess I’m too cynical and no longer have much faith in many things, and in this case, the integrity of our Justice Dept.

NOTHING will come of this. A GOP President is involved he is drummed out of office under threat of of Impeachment. A RAT President does commits a crime, and TMZ says what a great guy he is and the nasty old Republicans are the bad guys because they are such racists.

When someone in the Obozo Admin goes to prison for Fast and Furious and for Benghazi then and only then will I believe in justice, our voting system, and our media.
