Johnny Isakson will not join Senate gun bill filibuster
AJC ^ | Daniel Malloy

WASHINGTON --U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson will vote to begin debate on gun control legislation, not siding with some of the Senate's staunchest conservatives who have lined up to filibuster any gun bill.

That's not to say Isakson will eventually support stronger background checks or anything else in the bill, but as he told CBS This Morning: "I think it deserves a vote up or down."

Johnny Isakson is no conservative. I always think about what could have been had conservative Georgians given their support instead to Herman Cain a few years back. Isakson is as bad a collaborator as John McCain.

He wants Landreau Dem LA and Pryor Dem AR to expose themselves to the voters of those states. I think it might be a good strategy. If either one supports gun control of any form they will be history and they know it.

Senate “background checks” are anything but; ban anyone but owner from touching gun at almost any time

You’re a young woman at home when you hear a knock at the front door. You aren’t expecting anyone and ignore it, thinking it might be an uninvited sales call. Several minutes later you hear the back door rattle, and your heart starts pounding. You run to your bedroom and pick up the double-barrel shotgun our Uncle Joe let you borrow, check to make sure the gun is loaded, and point it at the door.

You call 911, and wait in the corner of a locked bedroom with your gun trained on the door as you hear the thief rummaging downstairs. A miracle happens; an officer was in the neighborhood, and catches the thief red-handed.

Your defense attorney tells you that the young felon who broke into your home was charged with breaking and entering, and he’s already back on the street. You’re facing five years in prison for having your Uncle Joe’s shotgun.
[...]
Anyone who votes for this bill is voting for the most draconian gun regulation to ever been presented in the United States Senate, designed to gut the heart of the Second Amendment. This bill it poison. this bill is treason.

Let your Senator know that you are aware of this fact, and you will hold them accountable.

This sack might as well be John McCain or Karl Rove, as ‘Conservative’ as HE acts.

By the way the RINO Senators are caving we may have to start looking toward the Republican House to kill this monstrosity...or better yet never even put it on the calendar for debate/vote.

My Constitutional rights ought not to be Isakson's election ploy. This isn't about getting re-elected.

Filibuster hard and kill this monstrosity DEAD.

I voted for Herman in the Primary. He would have been so great in the Senate.

Johnny Isakson is just another puking RINO like Chambliss. Thankfully Chambliss has realized we are going to primary him next year so he is “retiring” Johnny needs to get ready to retire or be retired in 2016. If he votes for any type of gun control his through in this state.

"Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American...The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people."

ANY and ALL Senate Republicans that fail to filibuster any new gun legislation should be removed from power. No excuses, no exceptions.

Isakson only takes emails from the National Association of Realtors. It’s the only group he represents.

Isakson is also pro-’immigration reform’. He needs to be targeted big time.

Vote him out—He is a RINO. He’s an Obamaphile and a Vichy Republican who has sold out his ideals for power.

I’ve met Johnny Isakson and listened to him speechify. He’s not a conservative and I doubt he is thinking in those terms. He simply can’t tell the difference between Republicans and Democrats any more.
