"ended up requiring federally licensed agents in the state to violate federal law, or flatly deny citizens their rights"

Excellent! It can't pass constitutional muster, then.

But that’s as if nothing, according to leading experts.

Huh?

I can't stand these bills drafted in secret by various "gangs".

What happened to the "most transparent administration" that we were promised?

NO ONE will do anything about these infringements so why mention them? The people get the government and oppression they have asked for, they, the over, are also the enemy.

If the citizens allow this to pass they are eunuchs.

I got that email from Shaban explaining his vote for the legislation. He and I served on the Republican Town Committee for a number of years. This was my reply to him:

"Nothing in the bill you voted for would have prevented Newtown. It is a gun grab bill no matter which way you choose to equivocate on this matter.

"You voted to deprive your law abiding constituents of their Constitutionally protected liberty by trying to legislate away the common citizen’s ability to protect themselves with at least as much firepower as his assailant will be packing – who doesn’t give a crap about what the laws are in place for the law abiding anyway – because he is not law abiding by definition.

"For all your supposed fatherly, lawyerly, gun owning perspective, you really missed the big picture.

"You bent over and let a pack of whimpering media pussies and Democrat fascist jackals steal our Constitutionally protected liberty. You didn’t make law abiding Connecticut citizens any safer by restricting the number of bullets WE have to fire at out assailants.

"Hey there gun owner-legislator, you’re now only packing 10 rounds – you think your burglar won’t still be packing 30 or more in his mag when he comes to your house to rape and kill your wife? What turnip truck awarded you your law degree anyway?

"The State of Connecticut has now failed to remain law abiding with respect to the Constitution and the Constitutionality of this law and this law will be challenged and this law will be defeated.

"Thanks for raising the costs for the law abiding and lower our collective safety at the same time.

"Dan Carter got it right. You, Toni and John all got it wrong.

"I will remember your vote and will remind others as well come election time."

FReegards!

I was not aware of that meeting, so I didn’t go, but if I had gone I would have had a hard time controlling my anger at the filthy politicos who refused to stand up for our civil rights.
