Can you imagine what a tough uphill struggle the anti-gun-rights people would have if the “news” media wasn’t falling all over itself to support the anti-rights side?
Connecticut just drafted 138 pages of gun law basically in secret, enacted it before it could be read and digested by those who signed it — and certainly not by the public it pretends to legitimately control — and in doing so ended up requiring federally licensed agents in the state to violate federal law, or flatly deny citizens their rights. Just on practical grounds this is a disaster. But that’s as if nothing, according to leading experts.
Legislators who draft laws in secret are behaving like the king’s men who ignited the American Revolution. They can expect no less if they continue down such a dark road, many experts say.
What did the officials choose to draft law against by this nefarious method? Only the very palladium of liberty, the very thing the Revolution warned us to guard against, a bill to reduce and actually eliminate a right for keeping and bearing arms the public already legally keeps.
Along with a list of many of the most popular makes and models in use today, the bill includes broad descriptions of arms to cover an untold number of other modern and older firearms. Are they out of their minds?
Is it an excuse that they didn’t know what they were doing? Of course not. That is an aggravating factor.
These officials operate by consent of the governed, with rights of minorities protected. Laws are to be drafted in public, with input from experts and the public. They deliberately and with malice aforethought chose not to.
Infringement is banned by the Bill of Rights. This is not some debating point. Violation of the Bill of Rights is an offense against We the People, and throughout our history has earned punishment. Not just at the ballot box, but real punishment. Else, what value the Bill of Rights?
Requiring agents of the federal government, in this case, licensed federal firearms dealers (FFLs), to conduct paperwork and electronic examinations of private citizens which the agents are banned by law from doing, is a clever way to stop citizens from getting firearms. It is also malfeasance of the worst kind, and deserves punishment of the highest order. This isn’t just use-the-other-lunch-counter bigotry, this is the no-lunch-counter-for-you brand.
(Connecticut is requiring FFLs to conduct background checks on private firearm transfers, and offers to pay them. It is a federal offense for FFLs to use the NICS background check system for anything other than their own authorized business sales.)
But the worst offense remains drafting and proposing such treasonous poison in secret. Merely voting for it is no less serious an act. Legislators who participated in this infringement of the fundamental civil and human rights of the citizens of Connecticut act as enemies of American freedom whether they recognize it or not. This is not how Americans behave.
Using the acts of a madman to justify the acts of these madmen is reprehensible, immoral and corrupt. Worse, their failure to act in a way that might actually identify and curb future deranged monsters is a failure to accomplish their most rudimentary role. It is abrogation of their responsibility as elected officials. This is grounds for removal from office. r?

But, but, but. “They” said it was agreed to by a bi-partisan committee. The republocrats should be run out of office just for being “knucklers”. Brainless cowards.
The same thing was done in New York State with the so-called “SAFE” Act. This seems to be modus operarandi for tyrants!

Abortion appears no where in the Constitution. Yet we’re told it’s a right that has to be protected.
If our government protected guns the way they protect abortion you would see:
1) Courts striking down all gun legislation.
2) Media would refuse to air any real arguments against guns. Moreover, Hollywood media heroes would fight against out of control gun regulators.
3) Government would fight any attempts at registering, regulating or tracking fire arms.
4) Laws banning the transport of guns over state borders would be thrown out.
5) People under the age of 18 could buy guns without their parents consent or knowledge.
6) The government would be supplying us all with guns and ammo, regardless of how poor you are.
7) Our schools would teach about guns and gun safety.
8) The government would crack down on protesters outside of gun stores.
9) All gun store records and receipts would be protected from outsiders on the grounds of “privacy”.
Note that most guns never kill or injure anyone.
Most abortions result in someone dying.
People injured or killed by guns include a large age range from 1 year old to 100 years old. Some of these people are injured because they are doing bad things.
People injured or killed by abortion include those who are 9 months and younger. The only crime they are committing is not being out of the womb.

But no one talks about regulating abortion.
When those snarling, holier than thou, know-it-all libs begin lecturing you about guns - you now know what to tell them.
That’s how they do things. There is no longer a “democratic” process. We have a ruling elite that does whatever it wants and a brain-dead electorate that is more interested in the latest bathroom “joke” on two and a half men than what is happening in the USA and in the world.

McKinney couldn't answer a simple question 'what is the penalty if a person fails to register a newly defined assault weapon' after flipping through his printed copy for 10 minutes.
They both voted for the legislation. RINOs.

I was at a Homeschool legislation issues meeting last night in Prospect with Rep. Lezlye Zupkus and she expressed disgust at the way the whole thing went down - she never was able to read the whole thing before the vote, but she read enough to vote NO.
My Rep (Noujaim) called me personally and told me he would vote NO, and he did.
So don’t lose heart - there are still a (small) handful of Republicans with integrity.
Don’t give any guns up and don’t register anything. The time is rapidly approaching when you are going to need them.
we need more than 40 senators.
Pehaps democrats who will “seek cover” by saying they will vote no because it does not go far enough.
Actually I traded all of my long guns, ammo, and mags for a table saw last December.
Only thing I have left is my handgun - cannot sell or trade those in Konnecticut without paperwork.
My wife and daughter know that we no longer discuss that topic outside of the house.
Legislators passing bills which haven’t been read is criminal. They need to be fired or more...
This is serious criminal behaviour and it _must_ be stopped.
