NYS Gun Control Opposition Continues to Grow

The opposition of the NY Safe Act is intensifying. With several successful Albany protests and then with the first “Regional Protest” in Syracuse, NY also being a success, the opposition is getting even more credible, energetic and vigorous. Will the movement continue with successful outcomes? The Team adamantly says yes. In the newest twist in the effort to repeal the Safe Act the grassroots citizens of New York will hold two regional rallies on the same day. On April 13th Citizens for Repeal of the Safe Act will hold protest rallies in Gouverneur, NY and Norwich, NY. (there is also the NY 2d Tour with Ann Marie Beurkle in Baldwinsville on 13th.) An unnamed spokesman for the loosely knit group stated, “ We won’t quit – won’t back down. The Safe Act must be repealed – there is NO compromising on that. We are the majority. Our insane government is doing harm to our state and country. When the Safe Act issues are clear and understood what sane person would agree to deny people the right to protect and defend the things they love? We have surveys that show we are the majority on this issue, but who needs them? Commonsense tells you the majority is not crazy. Isn’t it crazy if you want to strip (or restrict) good people of the ability to protect and defend the things they love?”

Safe Act Protest History: Within a few days of the passage of the Safe Act the NYS grassroots mobilized. On January 19th, 7,500 protested in Albany and 3,500 protested in Buffalo with the origination of the chant of REPEAL REPEAL – NO Amendment – NO replacement – NO compromise – The Safe Act MUST go.. The next Albany Rally followed on February 12th. This Rally/Lobby effort attracted a huge crowd and prominent speakers from Arizona, Montana, Texas, Arkansas and 16 New York Legislators. Again in Albany; On February 28th the grassroots with support from the Gun Associations of NYSRPA, SCOPE and NRA sponsored a Rally/Lobby that attracted 23,000 protesters – the largest in Albany’s history. This Rally paraded out 22 New York Legislators, 6 county Sheriffs, 4 county supervisors, numerous local and county lawmakers all with the mantra of total repeal of the Safe Act. On April 23 ardent citizens rights advocate Sheriff Mack traveled from Arizona to Syracuse to lead the usual chants with 2,800 protesters and also included very vigorous chants of “Cuomo Must Go”. The infectious enthusiasm of the peaceful but boisterous protesters prompted Sheriff Mack to freely make this statement: “There is nowhere else I would rather be today than here with you in Syracuse, NY” (even on a cold, snowy, windy winter day).

The Current state of Safe Act Opposition: 87% of New York’s County legislatures have passed resolutions demanding the repeal of the Safe Act. 41 Townships (est.) have passed opposition resolutions and 14 county Sheriffs have declared they will not enforce the Safe Act and call for its total repeal. It is too numerous to count the number of law enforcement and military organizations who voice opposition to the Safe Act. Over 500,000 New York citizens have signed petitions for repeal of the Safe Act. At least 8 lawsuits are being brought against the Safe Act. The Grassroots Organizers estimate that over 200,000 citizens have participated in protests in Albany, Syracuse and towns across the state. Over 3,000,000 people have expressed support of the Safe Act protests through social media alone. Several internal polls show a minimum of 67% to over 82% now oppose infringement of Second Amendment Rights. 92% of the citizens believe the Safe Act is unconstitutional. 94% of the people disapprove of the methods that Cuomo and the legislature used to pass the Safe Act (Approx.72% believe the procedures used are unlawful). Numerous invitations have been delivered to Governor Cuomo to address the citizens at the rallies. He has yet to respond.

What is ahead for the Rally/Protests (?): The spokesmen say: This will not go away. The support for the opposition to the Safe Act continues to attract more citizens, more organizations, politicians, professionals, men, women, families and more businesses every day. The movement is attracting National support and National figures (just wait to see what is in store – coming soon). The “Regional Rallies” will continue – more are in the planning stages. The movement also plans a “soon to happen” return to Albany. To sum up the future; “We will not quit – we will not back-down until the Safe Act is completely repealed and no infringement remains on the citizens Second Amendment Rights. The people MUST be free to protect and defend the things they love. What else is in the future for the movement? A message goes out to all the politicians who have wronged “We the People”; be prepared for a very vigorous reelection season, it WILL be like none you’ve experienced before. Money can’t buy love this time – bank on it! Not even Cuomo, Bloomberg, Skelos, Libous, Silver and the elite corporations combined can successfully subsidize the next campaigns. NO MORE, NO MORE – No more Mushmouth!!! We are mobilized and breaching ALL divides.

About the Movement: The movement is strictly grassroots (plain folks) – nonpolitical – nonpartisan. It is open to all and all are invited to participate. There are no set organizers or formal organization, no Website – no official social media source for accurate up to date information. There are no meetings to attend – no cost or obligation – the only qualifier is a true understanding of the value and necessity for people to be FREE. Anyone who wishes to be involved must talk to neighbors and friends to find someone already “connected” and ask them to “connect” you. Oh – you could contact Andy Cuomo – Andy and his cohorts surely know how to connect you to the movement – can you hear us now Andy?

The citizens of New York are realizing that political decisions have led to insane governance. Dems, Repubs and people that don’t even vote now realize crazy laws are taxing and regulating everything we do. It is just too much – it is making life miserable for everyone. It is truly time for the people to guide lawmakers using our commonsense.

We are Grassroots – nothing fancy – not even a Website or face-book. Our sole way to communicate is through personal email and phone. We urge ALL plain folks to spread the word. Take your own action or join us.

You can NEVER depend upon a police officer to protect you.
Several years back I was in a convenience market late at night buying milk and bread. An armed holdup man came in, herded me, the clerk and the manager into a storeroom, locked us in and then rifled the cash drawer. Immediately upon being locked in, the manager placed a call to the police to report a robbery in progress. It took 2-1/2 hours and 6 or 8 calls during that time, before the police arrived and released us from the store room.
This would not have happened if any of us had a weapon.

Thank you President Obama. You really do keep your promises/pledges. In 2008 you stood to say you will strive to unite the fine folks of this country.

Thank you for bringing those who love this country for what its founding fathers believed in, those who cherish freedom, those who scream LIBERTY together. Thank You

LET FREEDOM RING!

Where were you that it took police 2.5 hours to repond to an armed robbery in progress? Seriously. Was there an investigation? A public outcry? Did that make the news? I should be able to read about that somewhere or you guys didn’t do your job as citizens.

I was in the City of Buffalo.
Nothing makes the news if the local liberal crooked politicians don’t want it in the news.

The police knew that you were safely locker up until their arrival — so no reason to hurry!! ;)!!!!

I wonder what would have been the police response if the manager had announced to the police that he had just shot several burglars!!

One of my best friends was from Buffalo. He was a die hard Bills fan.

I extend my sympathies ;-)

The Buffalo Rally/Protest was mine. We just had another in Syracuse I spoke at, I will be speaking at one in Albion this Saturday. We have 51 Counties against SAFE and the rinos in the senate refuse to bring the repeal bill to the floor. Thanks to Skelos, Libous, Maziarz and all the rest of the rinos that are being dragged around by Cuomos leash.
