REPORT: 'GANG OF EIGHT' TO OPPOSE AMENDMENTS TO THEIR IMMIGRATION BILL
Breatbart ^ | 4/8/2013 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 04/08/2013 4:23:05 PM PDT by plain talk

All the members of the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” pushing immigration reform in the U.S. Senate will band together to block any efforts by other senators to offer amendments to their legislation once it is introduced, the Washington Post reported on Sunday. In response to Nakamura’s article on Monday, Gang of Eight member Sen. Marco Rubio’s spokesman Alex Conant told Breitbart News that his description of the process being worked on is not correct.

This is sounding more and more like nobamacare II. Something rammed down our throats without knowing what we’re getting into.

I hope the Republicans learned their lesson. Of course they didn’t but I still hope. If they didn’t and the RATS get 11 million more RAT voters, this country is truly done, save CWII.

If you read carefully the article, Rubio is NOT the problem...it is Flake, McCain, and Graham.

Also, let us remember: this is a report citing the Washington Post. And the Washington Post is NOT going to report anything that will encourage conservatives. Their mission is to demoralize us and to boost their Assclown Hero Zero.

"The legislation that the eight senators are working on is only the start of the process; we expect several committee hearings, a full debate, and an open process for other senators to offer amendments,” Conant said. “It’s premature to speculate about what sort of amendments might be offered, but if another senator offers an amendment that improves the legislation consistent with the principles Senator Rubio has outlined, then I would expect members of the group of eight to support it.”

That quote is from Rubio's office.

I also went to Rubio's site at senate.gov, and everything I see there confirms the idea that Rubio is for a fair, open, and transparent process.

I think Rubio is the best public face this legislative effort has, and if HE does not go on board with it, then Schumer and McIgnorant and the rest of the clowns know it is dead.

Rubio has been for amnesty from day one. He backed off slightly when there was a conservative backlash. He is now back on the amnesty train but “only if we tighten border security”, NOT.

Just more back room deals by the Corruptocrats residing in the District of Corruption. Do they ever consider why their approval rating is in the toilet? I sure hope the voters are up to burning down the Capitol switchboard like we did last time in 2007, when they tried to push this "Comprehensive Amnesty" crap on us.

There should be no bill - nothing to discuss until the Administration finishes the Fence and proves it is secure. THIS WAS PROMISED IN THE 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli Act. TED the SWIMMER also promised the Simpson-Mazzoli Act would be the last amnesty ever proposed - ha ha ha ha ha ha. LIES COME OUT OF DC LIKE IT IS THEIR ONE AND ONLY PRODUCT.

He’s slimy hack. I have thought so since I first heard him speak. It is so obvious, I am surprised people were fooled by him.

Sens. Jeff Flake, Lindsey Graham, and John McCain have not backed the efforts for transparency in this process.

If Graham and McCain are involved...

...and they are not supporting transparency...

...and they are against any amendments to their "perfect" bill...

...then you can bet that the US of A is going to get screwed.

A "delicately crafted" 1500 page immigration bill, my ass.

” that Rubio is for a fair, open, and transparent process.”

Except, we don’t need a fair, open and transparent process. It already exists. We need the laws already on our books enforced.

The gang of eight are
Pubs: Rubio, Flake, McCain, Graham
Dems: Durbin, Menedez, Schumer, Bennet

Whatever one thinks about Rubio overall he is liberal on immigration. Therefore the “gang of eight” consists of eight liberals without any conservatives represented

We are screwed. The second I read that the bill could be 1500 pages...can anyone say Obamacare, Stimulus, etc.? We are now finding out ALL the secrets in Obama Care. As for the Stimulus Bill, who knew it had a complete infrastructure to change the Education System tucked in that little cutie?
One can only imagine what they will stick in this wonderfully crafted POS! I also would like to be charitable and say I think Rubio is a nice young man, however, charity begins at home.

Yes, by all means, lets legalize millions of people to drive down wages, add to the unemployment lines and put on the public dole.

I have had a bad feeling about Rubio for 2 years, and if he screws us on this...

I have a strong suspicion that Rubio is well past the IF stage in his Senate career.

This makes no sense whatsoever. Something horrible that I don't know about must be brewing. If amnesty is passed, every one of these rinos are TOAST! Yet, they somehow think this is funny. Color me 'confused'!

When they say its for 11 or 12 million they are lying, under existing laws once legalized they will all get to bring in extended families.
