Japan Defense Minister Officially Authorizes SDF Forces Shoot Down N. Korean Missile (Breaking)
Yahoo Japan Headline News (original in Japanese) from Japanese news sources ^ | 7 April 2013 | Yahoo! News Japan (original in Japanese)

Posted on 04/07/2013 6:59:27 AM PDT by AmericanInTokyo

Japan's Defense Minister issued the official military order within the hour or so. It has been stated in news commentary that the North's Musudan intermediate ballistic missile which is an extreme threat to Japan and had been suddenly moved to North Korea's east coast just two days ago for possible launch without warning, without any kind of statement to international space or aviation bodies for a "test launch" of a missile, means that North Korea could launch a sneak missile launch without any warning to the world. So Japan's Defense Minister ordered Japan Self Defense Forces (SDF) into readiness with PAC-3 anti missile batteries to be activated along Japan's West Coast facing North Korea in the event any missile or portions of missile head toward Japanese territory. It will be shot down if a) called for and b) possible. Link to Japanese story. (They are not going to sit around and wait until a surprise launch on Wednesday next week aimed in the area of Japan).

I wish Japan were allowed to man up and build up their defense and a Nuclear arsenal, that should put the scare into North Korea, China, and Russia... a strong Japan.

What about the Mutual Defense agreement between China and NorKor.... We we take out their missiles and we're at war with China.
Not so if the Norks shoot first...

“Of course US assets in the region are now heavily involved in this as well, AEGIS is being stationed, and other aspects are escalating.”

If this escalates obozo won’t be able to pull a Benghazi dissappearing act.

I feel we owe Japan anything they need after the horrible plant accident, as a friend. An opportunity to help and shut Fat Boy up forever, but it sickens me zero would be POSHITUS
while we’re doing it.

Per some recent threads, NK has warned Russia and UK to get their people out by April 10.

Some post that April 15 is Little Tyrant’s birthday.

On FoxNews Sunday, Chris Wallace said that Little Tyrant seems more interested in emulating his Grandfather than his Father. His Grandfather was the one who invaded SK.

The latter part of this week could be very interesting.

Good morning.

What is the sentiment in Japan vis a vis going nuclear?

My understanding, if they do, could have a deliverable (all platforms) warhead in 6 months. True?

Exactly. The NK missile silos should already be targeted and any 'movement' that gives the appearance of them being armed and ready for release should result in pre-emptive strikes.

What if our brass wants to step up and zero won’t let them?
Do they get fired like the rest?

Maybe that’s why Hillary’s gone.

“Bully!” I believe that I&W would be enough to launch in order to defend our allies. No missile system can launch without certain I&W. Once Japan’s sensors or ours that we pass to them, receive power up indicators, RF links being established, etc., we should have the authority to launch a strike to prohibit the NORKs from getting off the launchpad or mobile TEL.

I am about 60% sure it was so China and Russia could test our missile defense response. Did you see the article a couple of days ago where Russian bombers are making test runs against our missile defense sites and ships?

If Japan ever goes nuclear... WATCH OUT.

My father used to tell me horror stories of a military Japan and how cruel they were to their enemies.

BTW, The Koreans (both North and South) and the Chinese have not forgotten their cruelty either.
