I wonder if nowadays not being on LinkedIn will result in people not getting hired?
No cheat here. I’m poor, facing foreclosure, and unashamed of that fact. My finances are an open book for anyone who wants to know. I’ll be sending these SOBs $800 - and that’s just for the business. Don’t have a clue how I’ll pay my personal taxes this year.
Over 50 posts and no comments regarding “Foorprint” in your title? I’m shocked! FReepers are either slow today, or kind to the first-time poster!
Documentation File on the harmful impact of the Counterculture of Obamanation on America.
Barry Soetoro, aka B. Hussein Obama, first Inaugural quote: I want to FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE AMERICA!
“We are officially a socialist nation”
More accurately, we’re now officially a national fascist socialist nation.

Just being kind I think. There is apparently some mercy out there. p.s. I hate it when I commit such errors. It’ll be long remembered.
An interesting thought on all this...do they know what to do with the data? Do they know how to ‘mine’ it? I am not so sure.
A huge scam that the IRS knows about and seems unable to stop is the bogus filing by prison inmates that results in their getting millions of dollars back in ‘refunds’. A few get caught. But the scam is so lucrative and the odds of getting caught are apparently low enough that it is worth the risk. And so what if a couple years are added to their sentance? No big deal. The IRS has not been able to stop this.
That all being said, the IRS has no business snooping into my business, nor anyone elses business with out cause, supportable by a judge issued search warrant. Just go to hell, IRS. Police your own first. And make sure all those non-filing Treasury and IRS people file...then do your audits on those returns.
Obama is filing with a bogus Social Security Number? Go after him.
The IRS is just another evil tool of foreign bankers who control the FED and our entire banking system.

There are also the cases of individuals claiming dependents (nieces & nephews) not even living with them — and getting away with it. Some claimed dependents even living out of the country if I recall correctly.
You are so right, they need to clean up their own house before they begin digging into mine.
Wow! Our government knows:
If I own a gun and how much ammo I have.
If I buy benedryl.
When I see the doctor and what it’s for.
How much money I make.
How much I pay on my house.
Whether or not I run a red light.
(In some states) how far I drive/what roads I use.
But the border is a lost cause. Can’t close it. Just complete defeat when it comes to securing the border....
It's a great post. Wow! You've been around a long time and this is your first post.
There's a man who attends a lot of meetings that I'm in. He doesn't say much but whenever he does, he make a great point. You're like that man.
I'm the opposite of that.
You been around here since 2007 and this is your first post? WHY?
Just kidding you. You did a good job.
Don't do E-bay or Facebook. Credit card and EFT transactions are very rare. Good luck IRS.
I work at being invisible to them.
Yet another reason to replace the income tax with the FairTax and abolish the IRS!
see http://www.fairtax.org for more information.
Don’t talk about your great trip to Vegas. Talk about wishing you could drive to Vegas from New York but you can’t afford it since your transmission is shot. And even if it weren’t, you couldn’t afford the gas and places to stay on the trip. And what sense would it make to got there, you don’t have any money to gamble with anyway. So tell people that you just decided to stay home and watch movies on your old B&W TV with the rabbit ears that only work it you stand and hold them. And then the TV broke halfway through the first movie so you took a walk around the block and some pick pocket stole your wallet. But that’s OK since it was empty. No cash, no credit cards, and you already lost your driver’s license. You’re just happy the guy didn’t come back and kill you for such a lousy haul. And when you finally got home, someone had broken into your crappy apartment and stole your TV. Now you’re worried HE’s going to come back and kill you. And hey, can I borrow some money. I’m going to take a bus to my grandma’s house across town. I don’t have any food, so maybe she’ll feed me for a day or two. My parents both hate me since I’m such a loser and they won’t even give me a Pecan Sandie if I stop at their place.
Hey, it was your phone number, right?
Thanks for the post.
My hope is that some creative computer nerds come up with convenient ways to block, distort, and fabricate digital information to the point where the government database is so poisoned that it is deemed totally unreliable.
Give them 202.555.1212 and call it good.
Yep. Can't stop teens from having sex, either.
—database is so poisoned that it is deemed totally unreliable—
Poisoned & unreliable — should fit right in with the Washington crowd.
Like the way you think. Did I mention that my neighbor just brought back my 8-track player fully repaired and good as new? Woo-hoo, back in the big time.
Time to get rid of the Frauderal Reserve’s enforcement agency. While we’re at it, how about getting rid of the Fed too?
I doubt it. Thanks for the thread though.
This could end up being the Stasi on steroids. They have so many ways to snoop now that they didn’t have then.
Look yournself on pipl ...you might be surprised.
>>Look yournself on pipl ...you might be surprised.<<
Nothing other than my phone book info (name and address). No links to anything else in the intrawebz. And that was after I helped it find exactly me (my RL name is fairly common).
What's hard about that?
Give them one - ANY one - and the clerk will be happy!
Would they persecute (or is it prosecute?) and person for having a slight bit of typographical dyslexia?
This is a great GOP lever and will resonate with the American people. Rand Paul or some potential POTUS candidate should jump on this instanter. Set up a bill stifling the IRS’s ability to do this. Make them get a warrant, just like any other law enforcement agency. Let the burden be on the regulator, not the people.
Obama will be gone shortly. We need to make clear that the ACA is really DemCare. They wanted it for decades, they pushed it under Clinton and it would have gone no where without Pelosi, Reid and the Democrat majority that pushed it through. They earned it.
It’s DemCare or DemocratCare, take your pick.
The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.(etc) Ayn Rand
I guess that if you don’t have a phone, you can’t buy a fishing lisc.
Actually, the IRS uses computers to compare the actions and behaviors of people. IT them compares them to a number of standards. If your personal behavior is unusual, you WILL BE TARGETED for an audit.
Odd behavior will become illegal. having a pet chicken, for instance. Reading about the habits and fashion of the ancient sumerians, or any other odd, out of the norm behavior will be tracked and flagged. Do not think that this will not happen. It will, because the USA government is now in the business of health. So they will , can and have, specify that you have odd behaviors and are thus prone to dangerous behavior.
There is one solution to all the ills that the USA finds itself in. OVERTURN the 16th amendment. JUST DO IT. It is the right, and just and obvious solution. But it is the elephant in the room that no one is talking about.
If you go the ol' "send in the blind paper CV" submission route it will likely go to "file 13" unless you direct it to someone with whom you have made a connection on the inside.
What's nice about LinkedIn is you can invite people to make those essential connections with you through points of professional and academic commonality. You'll learn of such points by looking at posted profiles.
You have to be the kind of person folks will want to connect with so it is essential to have a sharp and accomplished profile -- just like you would need to have on a CV. You can link your CV or your website to the profile and make learning about you effortless and not overly time consuming.
I joined in 2008 and have made connections with ~ 2200 people. Landed my first project using LinkedIn within 30 days and over the 6 months from Sept 2008 - March 2009 the project paid >$100K. Not bad at a time when the economy was in such a downturn post Wall Street collapse.
More to your point though: yes, I think LinkedIn profiles will be used more and more to identify skills sets for employment and for projects which require customized (or customizable) skills sets. It has helped me connect with a lot of old colleagues both academic and professional, and it has allowed me to connect 1 on 1 with some very highly placed decision makers (and I mean the check signers.)
the drunken self centered narcissists need to scour every nook and cranny and empty every piggy bank to fund their obsessive compulsive disorders
Won't we all....
But let me tell you about our newly elected senator from Indiana, The Honorable Mr. Donnelly...
Yup; I'm on the list then!
(Good luck with tracking ALL of us kooks!)
The neighbors will say that ELSIE hadn't shown any signs; lately...
I walked out of a deal a couple days ago at a store for the same reason. I see no reason for phone numbers to be demanded for any of these things.
“If your personal behavior is unusual, you WILL BE TARGETED for an audit.”
Are you saying that by my refusing to give out my unlisted phone # is unusual behavior?
Personally, I find it ‘unusual behavior’ to require such info (and pay $29) just to drown some worms and maybe catch a fish that the state (NY) suggests you DO NOT EAT more than 4 ounces of it a month due to high mercury levels.
Just checking to see if we’re on the same page.
Glad to see that others out there share my view. Thank you.
Lot’s of well-meaning FReepers have suggested that I give a fake phone number and just go ahead and buy the license. I have done that in the past and did consider it. I kept hearing a small voice in the back of my head saying “Starve The Beast”. I’ll use the money to buy more ammo, if I can find it.
“Give them one - ANY one - and the clerk will be happy!”
Official document that has to be signed by my hand verifying that the ‘above information is true and correct to the best of my knowledge, under penalty of perjury, blah, blah, blah...”.
If I’m going to be arrested, fined and thrown into prison it’ll be for something one hell of a lot more lucritive than lying on a fishing license application.
I can’t get out of this Communist State soon enough.
“Good luck with tracking ALL of us kooks!”
Sadly, my pet chicken fell overboard and drowned in a boating accident last Friday night while I was dredging the lake bottom for all those lost guns FReepers keep losing.
The wife decided we needed 4 more little ducks for Easter.
They are just about big enough to be turned loose with the rest of the critters...
... and to make it easy for the masses to receive an early refund, please provide your primary email address along with an alternate, as well as 3 out-of-pocket forms of ID...
"but it is not permissible to halt terrorism using profiling."
They don't pay taxes...
