Army Labeled Evangelicals as Religious Extremists

A U.S. Army training instructor listed Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism as examples of religious extremism along with Al Qaeda and Hamas during a briefing with an Army Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania, Fox News has learned.

“We find this offensive to have Evangelical Christians and the Catholic Church to be listed among known terrorist groups,” said Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty. “It is dishonorable for any U.S. military entity to allow this type of wrongheaded characterization.”

The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism. Topping the list is Evangelical Christianity. Other organizations listed included Catholicism, Al Qaeda, Hamas, the Ku Klux Klan, Sunni Muslims, and Nation of Islam.

But the muslim that gunned down people on an Army base was just having a bad day.

To label Christians with the KKK and Al Queda.

Sickening.

It’s not like the Army’s had Christian chaplains for literally hundreds of years... oh, wait.

I used to believe our military would stand with “we the people” in a crisis. Now I’m not so sure. They, too, are being brainwashed.

The Pentagon has to do whatever Barry Soetoro, Valerie Jarrett and any other leftwing extremist bomb thrower who comes down the pike tells them to do. The kids are running this chicken coop now! Elections do have consequences.

They hated Jesus first keeps coming to mind. Evangelical Christians are at the top of the hated list and the left’s number one target.

Army spokesman George Wright told Fox News that this was an “isolated incident not condoned by the Dept. of the Army.”

Isolated incident, my a$$.

So all the Army did was have the presenter delete the material from usage. As a Catholic I feel so much better now.

That’s what I said. I always assumed our military would be on our side. I don’t any more.

Beyond that, to label the KKK alongside AL Queda is ridiculous. They haven’t done anything major in decades, they’re membership is TINY, and they’re also a domestic group. When would the military ever have any contact with them? The same goes for organizations like the Black Panthers.

This is yet another example of social engineering in the military. “Not all terrorists are Muslims!”
Yes, but the ones you need to worry about ARE!

The fact that Evangelicals and Catholics are listed as terrorists is an outrage, and church leaders (including the Pope) should condemn this in the strongest terms.

I do not believe our military as a whole would act in an organized fashion against the people of the United States. If, as a hypothetical, the Army received an unlawful order from an anti-American communist who claimed to be Commander-in-Chief, the reaction would surprise the far left fringe (or maybe not and that is why the socialists are taking things comparatively slowly). For example, I do not believe any substantial portion of the military would aid and abet a systematic or widespread effort to infringe upon the right of the people to keep and bear arms. BATFE may disarm individuals, in some cases unlawfully, but the US Army and the United States Marines would be unreliable tools for that task.

From the article:

Army spokesman George Wright told Fox News that this was an “isolated incident not condoned by the Dept. of the Army... and certainly does not reflect our policy or doctrine,” he said. “It was produced by an individual without anyone in the chain of command’s knowledge or permission.... “In the notes it was clearly stated that the presenter was not a subject matter expert, and produced the material after conducting Internet research,” Wright said.

So if the presenter was not an expert, what were they doing presenting the material, Crews asked.

He said...she told him that she got her information from the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Hi Albion,

Here are the relevant pieces that I took out of it:

• a briefing with an Army Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania,
• The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism.
• This was an “isolated incident not condoned by the Dept. of the Army,” he said.
• “This slide was not produced by the Army and certainly does not reflect our policy or doctrine,” he said. “It was produced by an individual without anyone in the chain of command’s knowledge or permission.”
• Wright said after the complaint was lodged, the presenter deleted the slide, and apologized.

Knowing these things, there was a Reserve unit that had a training. Routinely, units will task a young troop to do a briefing as a means of growing. My guess is this was put together by a corporal, a buck sergeant, or a butterbar lieutenant. They got their info off the internet and presented it as a class to fulfill a requirement for “equal opportunity training” during one of their training sessions during the year.

So, I’m willing to give the Army the benefit of the doubt on this one. The soldier, though, has been thoroughly indoctrinated by the culture considering he didn’t realize the propaganda he was spewing.

Faith,

Xzins
