Judge orders morning-after pill available without prescription (To females of ANY age!)

A federal judge in Brooklyn, New York, has ordered the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to make the morning-after birth control pill available to people of any age without a prescription.

The order overturned a 2011 decision by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to require a prescription for girls under 17.

The FDA said it couldn't comment because it is an ongoing legal mater.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommended last year that oral contraceptives be sold over the counter in an effort to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies in the United States. Opponents of prescription requirements say prescriptions can delay access to the drug.

In 2011, Teva Woman's Health Inc, maker of Plan B One-Step, had asked the FDA to make the drug available without prescription to all sexually active girls and women. Sebelius overruled that recommendation, saying "I do not believe enough data were presented to support the application."

On Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Edward Korman said, "The decisions of the Secretary with respect to Plan B One-Step and that of the FDA with respect to the Citizen Petition, which it had no choice but to deny, were arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable."

Friday's order came in response to a lawsuit launched by the Center for Reproductive Rights....

I guess that this means that girls age 16 and under who are victims of statutory rape will not come to medical attention, and therefore not be reported to the legal authorities.

With no prescription required, gender makes no difference. Anybody could pick it up off the shelf.

I wonder if it could be given to somebody without them knowing they’ve been given it. Slip it in their chocolate pudding or something.

This judge better say whether the store that sold the pills will be legally liable if the woman, as well as her baby, dies.

If there is no prescription and the pharmacist makes the decision to give it to her, he is liable if the child is underage because the child cannot legally make the informed decision.

Moma, don’t let your son’s grow up to be cowboys - make sure they are surgeons, and specialists in gynecological oncology.

With Big Government tweaking the hormone system of developing females with “Morning After”, “3 Day After” and “5-Day After” pills available to any and all with no medical advice regarding frequency of use consequences, there Will be an endless stream of future patients for your “My Son, the Doctor”.

Being a bit of a slut is one thing, being a pregnant slut another. Being a cancerous, soon to be room temperature, slut is entirely different.

Those who think merely getting pregnant is a result of no birth control or abortion pill are either ignorant or on the Democratic/commie plantation.

Cut off Federal Aid to sluts and they Will become traditional American married mothers again. With no more sluts/bastards money from Big Government, women will once again discover the essential nature of marriage and a husband/father.

Only “Mack Daddy’s” and “Baby Daddy’s” will be harmed by cutting off funds to the slutty.

Just cut off funding for sluts and watch how fast those sluts learn to require a marriage ring as the price of sex. After all, Moses and Jesus recommended marriage over sluttery - and it worked in America until LBJ’s “Great Society” funded sluttery on a nation wide basis.

Uhhh - was that a recommendation they made, or was it a command based upon “Higher Authority”?

The judge is ordering it...so, how about bringing up on charges of practicing medicine without a license or prescribing drugs without a pharmacist’s license.

If he gets away with this then any judge could order the dispensing of any drug, regardless of danger, to be sold over the counter.

This is great for pedos! Give the kiddo an abortion pill and all the evidence is erased. The day after pill also has serious side effects parents should be watching for. When the collective becomes the parent, there are no advoates and no love for the child.

This judge is either stupid or evil. Typical of socialist societies, this decison defies all common sense and decency.

Funny thing, if a drug is “over the counter” most insurance won’t cover it.

Let’s see - does that mean they won’t be covered now on any prescription plan?
