Social Security, Medicare facing cuts in Obama budget [Democrats Hate Old People]
Tampa Bay Times ^ | 4/4/13

President Barack Obama next week will take the political risk of formally proposing cuts to Social Security and Medicare in his annual budget in an effort to demonstrate his willingness to compromise with Republicans and revive prospects for a long-term deficit-reduction deal, administration officials say.

In a significant shift in fiscal strategy, Obama on Wednesday will send a budget plan to Capitol Hill that departs from the usual presidential wish list that Republicans typically declare dead on arrival. Instead it will embody the final compromise offer that he made to Speaker John Boehner late last year, before Boehner abandoned negotiations in opposition to the president's demand for higher taxes from wealthy individuals and some corporations.

They figure it won’t hurt to make these cuts since they are going to be denying healthcare to old folks anyway. Folks will be dying younger, so the funding won’t be needed.

He doesn’t care about old people. He wants them replaced with the Obama Jugend.

everyone has to realize that Medicare, medicaid and all the indigent don't pay what the true cost of running a good ER 24/7....but the law says you have to treat everyone who comes to the door....

we may very well see many smaller hospitals close...or close er services and only depend on elective surgeries...

To the statist progressive eliminating old people from the population has the following benefits:

1) The quicker people die, the less they draw on social security and Medicare. If the expire soon enough their contribution over their working life exceeds what they draw out. This leaves more resources to distribute to more deserving citizens.
2) Any savings they leave behind can be redistributed to the deserving via confiscatory inheritance taxes.
3) They are no longer consuming food, water, and other resources. Removing this consumption helps the environment.
4) Given that the elderly population is disproportionately white and conservative, death enhances diversity and eliminates political opposition.

I’m surprised they’re letting you get checks.
They told me electronic deposit only.

My error. It is direct deposit.

It was a figure of speech, obviously lost on you.

So perhaps we should consider cuts to welfare and food stamps and disability - since clearly disability services have been badly abused by more than a few beneficiaries - and Medicare? And perhaps consider that *everything* in fact should be reduced?

I haven’t yet figured out why social security only pays for a modest lifestyle, at best, but we expect Medicare to provide the same care as a millionaire. For me, I’d like the government to get out of health care altogether. These socialist programs never work out. Too many people want too much for nothing.

You should get at least some of them. I can start at year end when at 62 and am trying to figure out if I should wait. It’s a little more challenging to run the numbers with SS’s uncertainty and the government looking hungrily at IRAs and 401Ks.

I lived in So Calif from 1964 to 1993.. There was a very good hospital near me—Northridge.

They had built the best emergency trauma facility in the whole city during that time I was there.

They actually shut down that entire part of the hospital after I was gone due to the high number of gang members & illegals who used the services without paying a dime.

Now—those who had insurance & could do the copays no longer have a facility to go to.

Direct deposit ONLY after early May of this year. Some people are actually still getting checks, IIRC.

Yeah May is when I start collecting and go on Medicare.

I’m soon to be an “entitlement” guy.
