The lawyer representing a professor charged with incest with his 24-year-old daughter has questioned why the alleged affair has been made public.
David Epstein was charged last week with one count of incest for what was allegedly a consensual three-year sexual relationship with his daughter. The political science professor at Columbia University, 46, allegedly slept with her between 2006 and 2009.
Epstein, who specialises in American politics and voting rights, is also said to have exchanged twisted text messages with the woman during their relationship.

Of course this is the way our culture is headed.
One more note: if this had been some conservative teacher or preacher, you know darn well you would have heard about this in the American media CONSTANTLY.
Another fine example of an upstanding professor teaching kids at Columbia.
Then there's the Muslim marriages with 8 yr olds...That's nothing more than rape...
Truth be told, I agree with the logic of this guy’s lawyer.
If two, three or four consenting unrelated adult queers can co whatever they want and it’s legal, why can’t two consenting adult queer brothers? And it that, then why not a consenting pair of adult heteros? Why not an adult father and daughter, or mother and daughter or mother and son? Uncle and nephew, uncle and niece, ... ... ...
What the hey. if anything goes, then anything goes, right?
Yeah that slope ends up being slippery after all...
Sounds like he manipulated and raped his own daughter for 3 years and she’s calling him on it.
What a piece of excrement.
It would appear that eliminating the liberal arts sections of our universities, along with eliminating public schools, might be the most efficient means by which we can actually restore morality, history, and intellect to our institutions of education.
Face it, folks, if your children have a lib arts degree, the probability that they actually have a real education is sadly close to zero.
The sad thing is that my father - who had a high school education from Jesuits, had sufficient knowledge of history and politics that he could easily defeat the Obamadork in any debate.
It’s a “civil right” don’t you know.
Commitment between loving consenting couples will be the norm for “marriage.”
Now, watch the courts lower the age of consent.
Homosexual marriage has been and always be a front to legalize sex with children.
I have worked with MANY homosexuals and nearly ALL were victims of pedophiles at a young age.
Older male Homosexuals ALWAYS prefer young teen males while referring them as ‘boys’.
Folks, spend some time among the homosexual community and one will find it littered with lost souls addicted to drugs, disease ridden despite what the media says and full of the most depressed people in the world.
The homosexual movements organization as well as deep pockets of funds with it’s bastardization of anyone who disagrees with it would make the Mafia blush.
So what’s the problem? The family seems “very, very close”. Maybe they should get “married” though...
And this is why homosexual fashion designers want all models to be rake thin and look like young teenage males. That is what they find attractive.
Did you read to the end of the story? Several countries, including Israel, already allow incest between “consenting” adults!!! Unbelievable.
The one that stands out for me is a woman is free to do what she wants with her body, including aborting babies but she cant share a man with another woman as in pologamy.
It makes no sense at all. The feminazis should have exposed that one sometime ago.
Doing the arithmetic, this happened when the daughter was between 17 and 20. She was in high school for most of this period.
Strike the word "adult" - their ultimate goal.
It was a much, much better institution when it was called King's College. In those days they trained their students in moral virtue.
