North Korea seen moving mid-range missile to east coast: reports

SEOUL | Wed Apr 3, 2013 9:13pm EDT

(Reuters) - North Korea has moved what appears to be a mid-range Musudan missile to its east coast, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said on Thursday, quoting multiple government sources privy to intelligence from U.S. and South Korean authorities.

It was not clear if the missile was mounted with a warhead or whether the North was planning to fire it or was just putting it on display as a show of force, one South Korean government source was quoted as saying.

This missile can barely reach Guam.

Let's hope it doesn't make it to Guam, it could tip the island over.

A FReeper on another thread had an excellent idea, IMHO. The U.S. needs to tell the Young-un that if he fires a nuke at us, we’re going to fire nukes at Iran. LOL! Great idea.

We should do that anyway. We can just say "oops, someone put in the wrong coordinates"

I must admit that I’m starting to find this pretty spooky.More so because of the lightweight who currently holds the title of Community Organizer-In-Chief.”The call comes at 3AM...hello,this is Osama Obama,I’m at a fundraiser right now...”

All it takes is one idiot to think he got the launch order (by accident), and you get some minor war starting up and everyone wondering what the next step is.

If we're talking about a live nuke, that's no minor war.

Yes, but it could reach Tokyo, bases in Okinawa and it could flip Guam all the way over!

Domestically, people in SK feel they had enough. They took all the restraints one can possibly do, and now NK has a real nuke. Allies promise that they can provide guaranteed defense. Many are skeptical. They all feel that they have to take the matters in their own hand, even if it is rather late. So they want SK's own nuclear deterrent. U.S. State Dept., arms control establishment, and Zero are all displeased. However, putting SK on even shorter leash while NK is running amok is not making a convincing case. It is a rather bureaucratically expedient move.

Anyway, because of that, U.S. are showing all kind of scary weapons(B-2, B-52, and others) to NK's Fat Boy. The trouble is that he is not backing down and up the ante in his own way. The boy used up all non-military measures now. At the same time, he always move ahead of belligerent rhetoric. He goes further than outsiders are accustomed to. NK rhetoric and threat have their own well-honed choreography. Plan, timing, execution, and climb down. He is way off this path. Things are not going right.

We all believe that NK state is dying. Clock is ticking. It is ticking faster after Kim Jong-il's death. In light of latest actions, it is ticking even faster. NK can unravel sooner than we expect. We always want to have some time cushion so that we can plan, prepare, and steer the event toward the manageable situation. However, I don't think NK situation will end in such a way. Things will end in some kind of a mess which nobody are prepared to deal with. Yes, we may predict the outcome, but the outcome would be one of the least favorable cases.

If he fires a missile at us, it is equally likely to hit Iran....

I have always felt that you can find core truths in many places, sometimes even in very unusual places, but that doesn’t take away from their truth. The line from the Movie 'Open Range'; where Charlie says: "There's somethings that gnaw on a man worse than dieing." is one such core truth I have found in a movie. There are many others.

The one I want you to think of now is from the movie 'The Dark Knight'; Where Alfred Pennyworth says: "Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."

The “Musudan Missile” has never been test fired. Some people believe it is closely related to the SS-N-6.

LOL! It wouldn’t surprise me. I heard that those NORK pilots that fly their “medium range missiles” aren’t very proficient. They are the ones who were kicked out of flight school.

Obammy do something? Not likely. He’s a dimwit coward. If the Norks make a move against the South expect Obammy to be absent from the action. Probably tied up and gagged in the basement of the Whitey Hut by the military.

Norks fire off a nuke and before we can retaliate, they sue for peace. The UN criticizes the US for provoking this and forces us to pay the Norks. Also they come back and say, if the US couldn’t sell weapons to South Korea, the north wouldn’t need weapons to defend themselves.

Hence our gun ban.
