I do, but I also blame the state Party for letting him appear on the ballot.

...as far as people entering through exits and exiting through entrances, ever wonder why we are said to park on driveways and drive on parkways...?

I remember when there were several men a few years back on FR posting pictures of South American hookers in thongs and trashing American women. wonder if that was Mark Sanford?

Ed Markey will, probably, end up winning the special election for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, so Ed, probably, won’t be continuing in the House for much longer. It would take a miracle for GOP candidate and actual conservative, Michael Sullivan, to win this special election, if Michael, even, gets past the GOP Primary.

The state party has objective criteria. If you fulfill it, you have to be on the ballot. Otherwise, the process would be corrupt to the core.

Yes, but they don’t have to actually support the candidate that comes out of the primary.
If the state party made it clear that this scumbag wouldn’t receive full support, the primary voters might not have put him on the ballot. I remember Republicans speaking out against David Duke when he tried to use the GOP’s good name to further his own ambitions.

Good grief, Sanford is nothing like David Duke. Duke was a unique situation. The party is supposed to be neutral in a primary contest. If the party tried to manhandle Sanford out of contention, people here would have gone nuts accusing the elites of going over the people, conspiracy theories.
Blame the voters. They had a clear choice. Most voters know little. Voters would vote for Satan if they believed Satan could make the economy hum on all fours. I really believe that.

As I said, there’s blame to spread around.
A legitimate political party should not, cannot, nominate someone who has demonstrated themselves unfit to serve the office they seek. I expect better from the GOP.
