I’ll give it a try :)

My oldest sister worked 3 jobs her entire adult life. Having no college education and was just really good at working hard at whatever job she could get ie. factory/cashier/counter help. At the ripe old age of 52 she suffered crushing back problems which prevented her from being able to do any of the entry level jobs she had relied on. Took over 3 years to get her any disability benefits and it did take getting a lawyer involved.

The whole system is rotten from top to bottom. Being at the offices and watching the stream of people with kids in tow, signing up for every freebie our benevolent government doles out, was damn depressing.

How true. I received a 30% disability when I retired from the Navy back in 1983. I was required to get recertified every year or revert to 10%. I gave it up after two years because retired military receive nothing but a tax break on disability pay. It wasn’t worth the hassle of taking time off work and expense of getting to a VA hospital three times within 3 weeks for the recert.

Most people don’t know that the VA disability amount paid out is deducted from military retirement pay dollar for dollar.

Only freeloaders make out in this country!

Actually, they always turn you down the first time and then you get a lawyer. Then you are in.

In other words, yet another "Lawyer Full Employment" Program.

In Satan’s world, ie, the world of liberalism,
everything is expectedly backwards from what
would be considered right and good.

I have a member of my family that became truly disabled last year. Big time cancer. Took him many months and a jump through a lot of hoops to become qualified. I am surprised that this benefit is seen as easy to come by. It certainly wasn’t for him.

That is true. You have to qualify for a much higher disabiltiy to receieve actual money.

There is some abuse, but the bar is very high compared to the running scam that is SSDI.

Moreover, the veterans of this nation at least have the stripes to show they earned it - physical and mental.

It makes me sick that the great majority of our Representatives and Senators have never worn the uniform of this nation.

One in 5 Americans is now on either Food Stamps of SSDI.

One in 5.

Think about that.

The trutly disabled, like your family member, have my prayers. That is what the program was set up for - people who need it.

Unfortunately, the lawyers have gotten a hold of the system, the same way they have taken over the medical profession. We are going broke fast because of medical Entitlments. Our medical system is the MOST expensive in the world per patient - and the reason for that is the blood sucking lawywers have stuffed their snouts with medical lawsuits.

They are shameless, hell bound vermin.

Have you seen the SSDI commercials?
