Great News: Republicans May Be Tempted To Embrace ObamaCare To Win Over Latino Voters
Pajamas Media ^ | April 1, 2013 | By Bryan Preston

Posted on 04/01/2013 7:22:40 PM PDT by JACKRUSSELL

...Some Republicans will be tempted to embrace ObamaCare, just as they’re tempted to embrace amnesty for illegal aliens now, in pursuit of the fast-growing Latino vote. Embracing either would be a mistake; embracing both may well kill off the GOP for good. Embrace one and you destroy your law and order and national sovereignty credentials, embrace the other and your credibility and small government principles are gone. The only thing the GOP would still have would be the evangelical vote, and the medialeft are already having an easy time marginalizing us.

The GOP is in a tough spot and there are no easy or quick fixes. Panders and surrenders on key principles will only end up destroying it.  The party is going to have to find a leader who can and will articulate its principles in ways that resonate and connect across demographic lines, and then follow that leader.

Temptation.

Yes, GOP, take a bite of the forbidden fruit.

It’ll work out for ya.

GOP, your political instincts are just uncanny.

Neither of the two major coalition parties need fear being driven out of existence any time soon ~ particularly not if they run the House, own 30 Governorships and nearly that number of State legislatures, and have a somewhat working majority on the Supreme Court.

There's always a constant flow of coalition partners from one party to the other so if the Democrats snatch up all the Hispanics by selling out black interests, the Republicans can easily pick up on that old coalition partner.

It's the math of winning in single member districts that drives this rough balance ~ in general you need to get 50% of the vote plus 1 more vote ~ and if you don't you tend to lose. If you lose you've got nothing to give your coalition partners and some are feckless when it comes to political loyalty!

What?? Hispanics want Obama-care too?

But Rubio, Rand Paul and McCain all assured us that they were ‘conservatives’

They assured us that amnesty is all they demand.

We will see how it plays out, but it seems to me that it simply does not matter if Republicans hold seats or even how many seats, because the government agenda always moves forward.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until a majority of voters discover that they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury.

Yes, GOP, take a bite of the forbidden fruit.

GOP-e wants to run conservatives out of the party, embrace amnesty, embrace, Obamacare, bring Lady Gaga to the RNC, etc. They're gobbling up a whole bushel basket of forbidden fruit.

They may have the evangelical vote, but they will never have this fundamentalist’s again, no matter what they do now. They crossed my Rubicon some time ago.

Correct. The Republicans are merely the “me too, after you” party.

A brilliant Freeper used a term in another post that I liked very much.

“...one day closer to street justice.”

GOP, take note.

The GOP has always said to conservatives what the democrat part says to liberals: “Where else are you gonna’ go?” Well, I think they’re dreaming this time. They can get 50% of the Latino vote but still lose if they embrace obamacare.

Today is the only day of the year I would look at that headline.
Still won't read it though, joke or not.

Well, this all kind of explains their passivity in following through with their 2010 threats to push for de-funding Obamacare. They’re foolishly thinking they can turn it into some kind of bargaining chip to be cashed into hispanic votes.

Thanks for abusing the trust, GOP.

All this crapulence and cavin in stemming from our open borders immigration policy since the Kennedy immigration Act passed in 1965. Ever since then legal immigration has been 85-90% from the 3rd world. These immigrants (Asian and Latino)like gov’t and are giving Democrats the edge

America is known to make abrupt transformations ~ at the moment we are still in a battle against the Great Obama Recession.
