Searchlight, NV - Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced grants totaling $7,349,289 for 21 organizations throughout Nevada to battle homelessness. The grants comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of the Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Renewal (CoCR) awards. The CoCR programs provide funding for a range of assistance to homeless persons, including transitional housing, permanent housing and other supportive services.
The blight of homelessness is a persistent problem in our state, said Reid. All Nevadans should have a roof over their heads and these HUD grants will go towards helping Nevada communities face the issue of homelessness head on. I am pleased that so many community and municipal organizations will have new resources to provide struggling Nevadans with quality shelter.

Where are the jobs harry?
What did you do with those billions of dollars harry?
If the blight of homelessness is a consistent problem in NV, then maybe you should be a state senator instead.
More Section 8 vouchers to get the parasites closer to the host.
Pork Pork Pork Pork
Harry stays in office because he brings home the pork.
No one really thionks they like this lump of scum do they.
Bring home the pork stay in office.
Americans think more of Pork than they do of their country.
” I am pleased that so many community and municipal organizations will have new resources to provide struggling Nevadans with quality shelter.

DEFUND socialist collectives, foreign and domestic. The looting continues. BIG GOVERNMENT IS CRONY SOCIALISM.
live - free - republic
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble!
If he had spent that money defeating obama, there wouldn’t BE so many homeless people. A lot more of them would have jobs if they wanted one.
When Ralph Klein was my premier. He offered one way bus tickets to any of the entitled who didn’t like Alberta’s offerings.
Gee Harry, why not give the State of Nevada the millions that you made off illegal land grabs. Opps, I forget Senators and House representatives are exempt from the law.
Hairy Reed is a stupid progressive imbecile.
When the money for this type of pork stops, there’s going to be big trouble.
This not pork, this is theft masquerading as redistribution.
The Democrat party is a criminal enterprise.
There is only one cure and it is not prison
If he is serious about helping the homeless , he should jump off the Wynn head first.
You think it’s bad now Dingy, wait until all of your Amnestistas move in.
“Womens Development Center Two awards totaling $250,031”
I can only imagine what thats for.
You got to admit it really does highlight how senatorial and congressional politics is really just a game of buying other people’s vote.
I could get rid of homelessness in Reno really quickly. The Reno area has a lot going for it as far as tourism. Unfortunately, the bums are everywhere downtown. I would make it illegal to panhandle or give money to bums (I would encourage people to contribute to programs to help the mentally ill and treatment centers instaed). Cleaning up downtown Reno would encourage more tourism which would increase jobs and further reduce homelessness. Of course we could always do it the liberal way and buy them all shopping carts.
Send the homeless Mexicans back to Mexico.
After the $7.4 Million is spent, will Harry guarantee that there will be no more Homeless People in Nevada?
I guess Harry forgot how that Billion Dollar “Stimulus” Bill worked out.
Exactly. Taxpayers should be asking “Why am I paying for program ABC in the State of PQR, when I reside in State XYZ?”, let alone asking why their tax $$ left the State to begin with (and how much was skimmed off the top by D.C. when it’s ‘given back’).
Of course the GOP isn’t smart, nor willing enough, to ask old Henry when the War on Poverty will be won.
Unfortunately, there’s enough low-information to go around all sides of the trough. Look how many here think they’re entitled to S.S. Why? all those years they ‘paid in’ *rolls eyes*
More like pay more voters to keep voting for his party.
Greyhound tickets to Arizona or NM are that expensive? That’s how you’ll fight homelessness in Nevada, Harry, and use the rest for cushy jobs for your pals.

BUMP! BUMP! BUMP!
Well-stated and worth repeating. Thanks, bert.
That will allow one homeless person to live for a week it he lived up to the 0’s standards.
Hairy, is doing a great jobbie.
That money will all be stolen.
Safari International just announced that they are NOT bringing their convention to Reno this year or possible ever again.
That is over 14,000 attendees—and they are wealthy & they spend money.
This leaves a BIG hole in the Reno economy.
