The Michele Bachmann sideshow is hurting the GOP

The Minnesota lawmaker alienates independents, moderates, and young voters — and she's not going anywhere

Attention GOP: Your rebranding attempts are being undercut by a segment of your party getting big headlines and lots of air time — a segment symbolized by the Minnesota quote-machine, Rep. Michele Bachmann. Due to a series of gaffes, she is again on the receiving end of criticism, including from Fox News powerhouse Bill O'Reilly.

The Congresswoman is also, as reported by The Daily Beast's John Avlon, "embroiled in a litany of legal proceedings related to her rolling disaster of a presidential campaign — including an Office of Congressional Ethics investigation into campaign improprieties." It's almost as if Bachmann is a Democratic mole embedded in the Republican Party with the purpose of chasing away a wide range of voters.

Leftists are telling the GOP to dump Conservatives. Nothing new here.

I was in Michele’s corner until she betrayed Sarah Palin.

The first day out of the gate, Michele’s newly appointed campaign manager (for President) went after Palin hot and heavy. To make it worse, Michele made her campaign manager apologize to Sarah personally .. but Michele never made a public apoligy to Sarah .. and that really bothered me.

I was stunned by Michele’s actions. Sarah had supported and helped Michele all during her campaign .. and this betrayal told me not to follow Michele anymore.

Funny thing, when Michele visited with Trump - He later made a comment about her “being disloyal”.

Here! Here!!! Well said AuntB!!!

The same nonsensical "ethics investigations" as were perpetrated against Sarah Palin are being propounded against Bachmann's campaign for POTUS!

When will the GOPe stop persecuting their own fantastic conservative women and start giving them unmitigated support???

AuntB I include you, even though you're not running for anything that I know of, you are a consistent conservative and an honorable activist that I've admired since the great battle against federal tyranny at Klamath Falls, OR and at Jarbidge, NV even before that!!!

Your support of a rational immigration policy that restores the rule of law and legitimacy to the whole process since the huge effort we all made in 2007 should earn you the highest citizen's award given by a legitimat occupant of the White House!!!

God bless you AuntB!!!

O’reilly trashing Bachmann? That’s an endorsement as far as I’m concerned.

Yahoo is getting worse and worse daily.

They're constantly posting "opinion" articles i.e., liberal hit pieces) that purport to be news.

So the effort by the leftist media to neuter the GOP once and for all rolls on.

No, it is not. Without fail, elitist GOP hacks, wonks, consultants, staffers, politicos, et al are just trying to keep the playing field clear from distractions for 2014 and 2016. They are hankering for another Bush, perhaps a Rubio, or someother ‘accepted’ Party-approved loser. I will vote for NONE of them, and I could give a damn what MB is doing that may “harm” the GOP; I want the GOPe crushed!

Count me in. Stopped watching these gasbags like BOR and Geraldo a long time ago. With Rush Limbaugh now saying that gay marriage is inevitable, is there anybody else worth listening or watching? May be with the exception of Laura Ingraham. The elites in the Republican Party can’t stand Micele Bachmann and this tells you a lot about the RNC crowd.

What’s hurting the GOP is not Bachmann, but that she is marginalized. She should be the mainstream of the party, and the hacks that attack her should join the Democrats. Until that day, they won’t understand why they keep losing elections, and why they will lose the House in 2014.

I lost all respect for Bachmann when she became a European socialist. If the United States isn’t good enough for her, she should go live in her Swiss paradise. She’s a brazen traitor, and she should be impeached and replaced by a real American.

There is a legitimate reason to trash her. In 2012 she and her family defected to Switzerland and transferred her loyalty to the Swiss and European socialist. She used to be good, but the traitor should be removed from office.

Michele is fine right where she is. I like her. I hope she continues to push the conservative agenda from her House seat.
No more “president” dreams, though.. That hint of “runaway bride” insanity in her eyes unnerves me a little.

Ms Bachmann s one of the few repubs that is worth a darn. They should listen to her rather than mock her. As it is, the GOP is rapidly becoming totally irrelevent - why have them when there are plenty of rats around that will do and say the same things? I don’t give two hoots in hell for the GOP any more - will only vote for Christian conservatives regardless of party, and would proudly vote for Michelle Bachmann for any national office she cares to run for (unless Sarah Palin is also running).

Have you ever heard of an extremist liberal or far left Democrat? I guess they don’t exist.
