Mexican drug cartels are coming to America

CHICAGO — Mexican drug cartels whose operatives once rarely ventured beyond the U.S. border are dispatching some of their most trusted agents to live and work deep inside the United States — an emboldened presence that experts believe is meant to tighten their grip on the world's most lucrative narcotics market and maximize profits.

If left unchecked, authorities say, the cartels' move into the American interior could render the syndicates harder than ever to dislodge and pave the way for them to expand into other criminal enterprises such as prostitution, kidnapping-and-extortion rackets and money laundering.

Cartel activity in the U.S. is certainly not new. Starting in the 1990s, the ruthless syndicates became the nation's No. 1 supplier of illegal drugs, using unaffiliated middlemen to smuggle cocaine, marijuana and heroin beyond the border or even to grow pot here.

But a wide-ranging Associated Press review of federal court cases and government drug-enforcement data, plus interviews with many top law enforcement officials, indicate the groups have begun deploying agents from their inner circles to the U.S. Cartel operatives are suspected of running drug-distribution networks in at least nine non-border states, often in middle-class suburbs in the Midwest, South and Northeast.

"It's probably the most serious threat the United States has faced from organized crime," said Jack Riley, head of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Chicago office.

They are already in America. Chicago is one of the major distribution centers for the cartels.

The War on Drugs is an abject failure. In the same way Prohibition took a bunch of loser mopes and turned them into millionaire crime bosses, the War on Drugs has created billion dollar drug mafias.

It’s time to try the alternative - personal responsibility. Get government out of the prohibition business.

Someone is trying to fool us with an April Fools Joke.

This cannot be true. Napolitian says we are perfectly safe.

We are as safe as in our Momma’s arms. unless Momma is Casey Anthony.

Yeah, sure. The Border is “safe” because they have not moved into the Heartland.

The Mexican gangs have now killed two prosecutors in Texas.

Just great, a time when US citizens are in more danger than ever, Obama and the criminal democrats want to leave us basically unarmed and unable to protect ourselves.

I wonder if cartels will register their weapons or submit to background checks? But hey, we can still buy whistles and hide out in “gun free zones”.

As they entrench themselves here, look for the numbers of kidnappings and gruesome murders to surge. The murder victims will include family members of all ages... body parts will be discovered hanging from bridges.

The the American sheeple will meekly look the other way and convince themselves it simply isn’t true.

Exactly! Why are there so many murders in Chicago? The Drug cartel is there at the pleasure of Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

he is gonna use the money they are giving him to look the other way for his upcoming presidential Campaign!

Wish it was possible that only four years had elapsed while the threat has grown. Look at a decade plus for the truth. Witnessing what is being witnessed takes time. They snuck in the front door, back door, and side door too long ago with the help of many of our politicians. Wish it wasn’t true for now dealing with the truth is going to take a lot of time and energy. Time and energy America should be spending on other things but according to our politicians; criminals must be rewarded. Any politician pushing for amnesty or whatever they want to call it is an accessory and promoting the spread of criminal activity. If a politicians says NO that is not what am doing ... they are lying.

You sure about that? Some are saying Aryan Brotherhood.

Nonetheless, the Mexican drug cartels have been here for years. Our pathetic government just doesn't want to admit it because they may offend someone.

Yep. It is also unconstitutional. Note we had to have an amendment to ban booze, but not drugs.

Yep I agree. But, at this point legalization will not work because the Cartels won’t give up the monopoly

Notice, in some of the places like Thailand where drugs used to be produced they are not. Other places like Singapore used to be big distribution centers; no more. Why is that? Because the governments made it too risky to produce or distribute narcotics. The same is true to a lesser extent of Turkey.

Essentially the US needs to do what the Chinese did in the 19th century to deal with opium addicts creted by the British only go one swtep further

The Chinese simply executed addicts in mass. The US needs to close its border and then treat any cartel members within the US like spies and simply kill them. Put small time users in prison for years with NO outside contact to pass drugs to them.

Dry up the demand disrupt the supply.
