Johns Hopkins University is standing by Dr. Ben Carson, even after the neurosurgeon’s anti-gay remarks, Dennis O’Shea, executive director of the university’s media relations said.

“Dr. Carson is a distinguished Johns Hopkins surgeon and scientist chosen to speak at the School of Medicine diploma ceremony because of his extraordinary accomplishments as a neurosurgeon and his many contributions as an advocate for education and children,” O’Shea said in an email to The Huffington Post. “He was not asked to speak because of his personal political, religious or social views. His personal views are just that, his own. When he speaks about them, he is not speaking on behalf of Johns Hopkins.”

It looks like the thought police lose this one. :-) It also turns out that there is NOT a groundswell of students looking to not let him speak it was a small group of students and their petition is pathetic.

I can’t wait. However I believe some are a bit reluctant to pile on him because so many see him in a positive light. The homosexual lobby which includes the media should tread carefully least they create too many sympathetic martyrs. Already there are countless examples of them playing the role of “brown shirt” or rather “pink shirts”. People are getting sick and tired of it even some of those who are sympathetic to homosexuals.

Apparently the group that wanted Dr. Carson out consisted of eight (8!) med students. Original stories indicated it was a majority of this year’s med school graduates. I didn’t think they’d get anywhere with this nonsense nor did Dr Carson.

I don’t so much care if there are 8 soon to be M.D.’s with degrees conferred by Johns Hopkins, but I am concerned that our best educated doctors could be so persuaded by political correctness as to disregard the very real medical problems that arise from ‘gay’ behavior.

I agree. I just want Drs. that acknowledge the reality not the propaganda. I don’t expect anyone to be anti-gay just be truthful. It certainly doesn’t help homosexuals to ignore the high rates of drug/alcohol abuse, the high rates of stds, the rampant promiscuity, the high rates of suicide etc. The state of science and medicine is being thoroughly corrupted by political correctness. They are no longer satisfied to even admit what they do not fully understand, they report with certainty things they know are incomplete.
Anyway its good to see the good guys win again. Dr. Angela McCaskill got her job back too.

This is the REASON WHY Johns Hopkins is always ranked either #1 or #2 every year!

They follow science instead of PC bull****!

Johns Hopkins University is standing by Dr. Ben Carson, even after the neurosurgeon’s anti-gay remarks...through such insidious tactics do the likes of MSNBC spread their hatred and bigotry - Dr. Carson never made "anti-gay remarks" - he stood up for, defended traditional marriage - until conservatives learn to jump on such lies every time they're put out, they'll continue to be seen negatively.....

While I'm glad to hear that, it makes for a minor win for the destroyers on the left, because lots of low info folks saw the screaming headlines and very few will hear about the actual details. So the story goes down that Carson is such a bigot that his own medical school rejects him.

Enough of these sorts of incidents, and the myth of a conservative becomes the "truth". Case in point - how many people still believe that Sarah Palin said, "I can see Russia from my house"?

"His personal views are just that, his own."

Oh no they're not - as long as he lives on the plantation.

Dr. Carson will now understand what happens to someone with courage and accomplishment who climbs out of the leftist entitlement cesspool.

"The state of science and medicine is being thoroughly corrupted by political correctness"

I would declare that this is a coordinated attack against all who state the obvious - an agenda to overturn the entire social / family history of the human race.

People can do whatever they want today between consenting adults. The SSM minority wants to deny nature and God - normalizing aberrant behavior. Their only tool is indoctrination, not theology or science.

I thought as much, Liberals are very good at orgizizing to suppress the speech of others.

Organizing to make yourself look more popular than you are is after all a major tenet of liberalism.

This is unforutnatly something we must learn to copy and out do, we are behind the curve in this vital area of politics.

The designation of “anti-gay” is itself a lie. I don’t know anyone who is anti-gay in the way they mean it. The people I know don’t accept the homosexual lifestyle. It is not only morally wrong, but physically and mentally unhealthy.

Pointing this out isn’t anti-anything, but pro-life. Homosexuals as people deserve love and respect individually, but you don’t have to like or accept their lifestyle. Telling the truth isn’t a political act.

Yeah...it was small. I went to their FB page and commented. At the time, there were only 124 page followers, and the post on Dr. Carlson only had 22 ‘likes’.

The Left media made as much hay as they possibly could for this non-story.

To say he is “anti-gay” is incorrect. He is against gay marriage. That does not make him anti-gay.
