So the real question, is, what is a good alternative to g-mail. I switch to Bing a long time ago, but I like g-mail, so is there some way I can get off it?

The new Outlook.com mail is great. We have a couple of accounts and so far it has had no problems (and far less spam).

I’ve been using duckduckgo.com instead of google.

As an alternative to gmail, I use Thunderbird, from the same folks that bring you Firefox.

Never had a gmail account.
