Neurosurgeon Ben Carson apologized Friday for comments he made about gay marriage on Sean Hannity’s TV show earlier this week.
“I think in terms of what was said on Sean Hannity’s show, that was taken completely out of context and completely misunderstood in terms of what I was trying to say,” Carson told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. “As a Christian, I have a duty to love all people and that includes people who have other sexual orientations, and I certainly do, and never had any intention of offending anyone… If anyone was offended, I apologize to you.”
The John Hopkins doctor came under scrutiny when he appeared to liken homosexuality to pedophilia and bestiality, sparking the outrage of the LGBT community.
“My thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It’s a well-established fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality, it doesn’t matter what they are, they don’t get to change the definition,” the doctor, who is the director of pediatric neurosurgery, said on Hannity’s show Tuesday.
His comments also led to a petition by students at Johns Hopkins University, who want him to be removed as commencement speaker, as was initially planned. Students, colleagues and the media alike have harshly criticized Carson for his choice of words.

Once Marriage is redefined, the legal eagles on our side of the ledger note challenges in regards to polygamy, marrying your cousin, marrying a family member etc etc are not out of the question. Andrew Sullivan noted what is the definition of marriage, is it of a finite time, can it be open etc.
many here on FR have posted stories from Canada and Europe from real newspapers with articles such as should we take another look at incest etc, much like 20 years ago articles about gay marriage appeared
Again "they" as Progressives will push the boundaries and no one will entertain all the other "things" that will became a legal battle, while their "liberal allies" in this don't see the cause and affect and are only all about the feelings of this issue, and are low information voters at best.....
We are entering uncharted territory and we are about to throw out the map we have because a handful think they know better...

My guess is that Hopkins has threatened him with more than just removal of commencement speaker. These people play for keeps. Before we are quick to judge, would you let your family starve or forgo college for your children? Honestly? I would like to think I would, but....
He spoke the truth and for that he will pay... God help us.

I agree but we on this site are so guilty of ensuring that won’t happen. As a group we constantly call Lindsey Graham, The President, John Roberts, the two female Supreme Court ladies, and many others. Quite frankly, we should not even make fun of them because it just enables them to come out. I know for years we would make fun of Anderson Cooper about being gay and we were right but all the talk allowed him to safely leave the closet. I hate gays as a group and as a whole for sure!!!!!
He had already planned to retire later this year. I just want to find someone who will refuse to apologize for speaking the truth. Just one.

He shouldn’t have apologized. Disappointed that he did. I have said the same and yes, have discussed the same incest and bestiality issues with those lobbying for same sex marriage on Facebook. I will continue to do so and I will not apologize for it! Come on, conservatives, get your game on!

I agree 100%. They are the one’s who spread AIDs. They are the ones destroying traditional this, that, etc. They act like a damn minority, and; they demand minority preference. Obama gave these whack jobs special treatment in the military, etc. These are not the types I nor anyone ever commanded in combat or led,and; I damn sure would not want a blood transfusion from one. There is no damn way these fags can be in an Infantry unit and not create serious problems to combat readiness. When Brucie and Pal are split up they will whine and cause more damn trouble then any female who is an Infantry type. If a commander has two fags in his unit he has serious issues if one is disciplined or transferred. These fags and lesbos come in pairs. Now if a female officer decides to get pregnant just prior to combat or on R&R the next thing you have is a unit with no cohesion, unlike a commander shot to hell or killed, this preference for gays and females and lesbos in combat units is a big PROBLEM. The real minority in this country is the WASP MALE.

This crap is extremely damaging to society. The validity of art, literature, medicine, etc is now secondary to ideology.
