(I voted Republican, no Conservative was on the ballot.)
This shoud encourage more businesses to relocate to NYC./s
I guess the small business will be closed when employees call out sick.

I can’t wait to see what this bull dyke will do to top Emperor Bloomberg when she becomes mayor. Just what New York needs, an upper west side butch running things. She can pal up to Kagan and Sotomayor.

RE :”Under the compromise proposal hammered out by Quinn, a sick-leave mandate would initially apply to companies with 20 or more employees, requiring them to provide five sick days annually.
An earlier bill that Quinn had blocked would have forced companies with as few as five workers to provide paid sick time. “
HA, Bloomy is against it.
I saw a debate on this by a few NYC council-ers on MSNBC I think. The 5 employee mandate would have killed those businesses, the 20 isnt that great either.
They could have mandated unpaid sick leave but they just feel compelled to show their generosity with others money.
I used to eat dinner in NYC China-town and those restaurants just ignore the sales tax laws, my bill (check) never including sales tax and thewaiter who brought it pointed that out. This should go over well there.
Is this just for full time employees?
