A boy sexually abused by his adoptive father and his gay partner was labelled an ‘unruly child’ by social workers who ignored his complaints for years, a damning report has revealed.
They sent Andy Cannon, now 23, back to the couple’s home despite his protests of abuse, praising the gay man who adopted him as a ‘very caring parent’.
The report accuses Wakefield social services, in Yorkshire, of ‘folly and gross misjudgment’. Mr Cannon, who was wrongly diagnosed with mental disorders and prescribed anti-psychotic drugs, believes he would have been listened to sooner if his adoptive father wasn’t gay.
The case ended last year, after half a decade of legal wrangling, when a court ordered a £25,000 compensation payment to Mr Cannon.
Mr Cannon, now a father of two himself, was adopted by David Cannon in 1997.
He and his mother, Elaine Moss, repeatedly complained to social workers about the abuse. In 2004, he was returned to Cannon’s care nine days after running away and making a complaint about him.
Cannon, 54, and his 31-year-old partner John Scarfe were each jailed for 30 months in May 2006 for inciting sexual activity with a child.
Mr Cannon said: ‘I believe if my adoptive dad was in a heterosexual relationship then my complaints would have been listened to earlier.

No one mentions in adoption, that homosexuals, besides liking young males being a problem, the biggest problem of all is that homosexuals are already starting at a place of low morality, of an indifference to God and conventional rules and social limits.
For a homosexual potential parent, the moment they walk in the door of the application office, they are already outside the boundaries of good parenting, are already established and verified to be overly tolerant of abhorrent behavior and practices, before any basic background check and routine investigation is even needed.
This is still going on today.
I talked to a Social Worker just the other day, that just so happens to be a Christian, and she related the story of another Social Worker, whose son was gay, who ignored the pleadings of a little boy placed with gay “parents”.
It is disgusting, it is unfair, it is unjust, and it is criminal.
It leaves you feeling like you’d like to take an ugly stick to both the Social Worker and the perverts attempting to turn that child into one of them.
Nothing like a little child rape to get the old comedy juices flowing eh?

In the 90s I was involved with the Episcopal Church in and around San Francisco. I was a delegate to the Diocesan Council. The gays at the time were trying year after year to get their own marriage ceremony as an addition to the Book of Common Prayer’s list of services.
Their reasoning was that the Bible had been mistranslated. Instead of the Bible condemning homosexuality they insisted that it had been meant to say pedophilia was the bad thing! This allows them to be on the same footing in their eyes as other Christians and means they should have the same rights.

Did you get a chance to ask whether a man who molests young girls is straight? Because logically, they seem to be saying that there are basically 3 sexual orientations: gay, straight, and pedophile.
A homosexual is someone attracted to those of the same sex. It doesn't matter how old. Thus a man who molests young boys is a homosexual pedophile, while a man who molests young girls is a heterosexual pedophile.
Also, most of these molestations appear to involve teen boys, not pre-adolescents. Adult men who seduce teenage girls are not called pedophiles. It's not considered odd that a twenty-something guy is sexually attracted to a sixteen year old girl. That's why fathers tend to try to keep their teenage daughters away from being alone with older guys.
Similarly, an adult gay man WILL be sexually attracted to teenage boys, and should be kept away from boys.
