SWAT teams should simply be disbanded. They’re worse than useless.
Wannabe cops. This was more geared to be a demonstration to the local public over what they could do. Fairly comical for their leadership...trying to explain to the city council and just about everyone else why this all made perfect sense in the end. These are probably one of the crews to get the MRAPs when they finally get delivered.
They are generally a bunch of ninja wannabes. Get rid of the WOD and you will eliminate funding for 90% of the SWAT teams in the country.

Yep. “Look what we can do!” A foretaste of things to come. There’s ample opportunity and a surplus of training areas available to these departments, where they can conduct “hostage rescue exercises” to their heart’s content without disturbing the local gentry.
You don’t hold drills like that in public with a TON of notice. I probably would have dared the guy to arrest me and continued home.

this was not a hostage rescue training process. This was a training exercise for confiscating semi auto rifles in New York.
During their training exercise, lets hope they didn’t use up too much of their precious hollow point bullets.
