Chelsey Morales said police confined her to an apartment.
Thurston Gross said police threatened to arrest him for trespassing as he tried to get to his own home.
What happened at Ida J. Yarbrough Homes Thursday during a police training exercise was unacceptable, said residents and community advocates at a lively meeting of the Arbor Hill Neighborhood Association on Monday night at the Arbor Hill/West Hill Library.
Albany Police Department's SWAT team conducted a hostage rescue drill in a vacant apartment at the public housing complex, just a few yards away from occupied homes.

Well if they announced it, it wouldn’t be much of a drill now would it?
SWAT teams should simply be disbanded. They’re worse than useless.
Wannabe cops. This was more geared to be a demonstration to the local public over what they could do. Fairly comical for their leadership...trying to explain to the city council and just about everyone else why this all made perfect sense in the end. These are probably one of the crews to get the MRAPs when they finally get delivered.
They are generally a bunch of ninja wannabes. Get rid of the WOD and you will eliminate funding for 90% of the SWAT teams in the country.
... which is exactly why 90% (99%?) of cops will say the WOD needs to be expanded.
No it won't. They'll just change it to a WOC (War On Christians).
(or already have)
But then what would you do with the ‘roid rangers and all their pent up rage?
Have them convert large rocks into small rocks at the local institution (after convictions for conspiracy to deny civil right under color of authority)?
Government sponsored urban terrorists if you ask me.
Yep. “Look what we can do!” A foretaste of things to come. There’s ample opportunity and a surplus of training areas available to these departments, where they can conduct “hostage rescue exercises” to their heart’s content without disturbing the local gentry.
You don’t hold drills like that in public with a TON of notice. I probably would have dared the guy to arrest me and continued home.
works for me
public housing complex,

LIVE in MY house, follow MY rules, Comrade.
Of course if all the tax money is spent on ‘PUBLIC HOUSING’ etal they can’t afford to have a ‘training site’...../sarc/
What ever you do unto the least, "IE pathetic stoners." you do unto me.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Karma/reap what you sow.
this was not a hostage rescue training process. This was a training exercise for confiscating semi auto rifles in New York.
During their training exercise, lets hope they didn’t use up too much of their precious hollow point bullets.
great for dog overpopulation.
Fire them and make them get real jobs.
