The National Rifle Association (NRA) recently released a list of gun control advocates.

According to the list, these people and companies have given money and/or support to gun control measures and/or organizations such as the Brady Act and the Clinton assault weapons ban, reports the Daily Mail.

According to the NRA, celebrities who believe in some sort of gun control in America (the most violent industrialized nation) include: Jack Nicholson, Sylvester Stallone, Dick Van Dyke, George Clooney and Lauren Bacall.

The NRA claims that these businesses support gun control in an effort to reduce deaths: National Spinal Cord Injury Association, the American Medical Association, Levi Strauss & Co., Hallmark Cards, Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, Ben & Jerry`s and the American Association of Retired Persons.

The NRA also listed the Episcopal Church-Washington Office, Kansas City Royals baseball team, Gannet Publications, the New York Times and Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine.

Here is the complete list:

What a shock they are all lefties and I imagine staunch Obama supporters. Looking at the list I was surprised at some of the names as I thought they were dead already.

Uh, they need to update that list of "celebrities". Several are dead.

And no real surprises, besides Stallone. The rest are well known liberals.

Publishing a list of hollywood types that support gun control is like.....

listing the Irish that hate the potato famine listing the Russians who drink vodka

listing the English who drink tea

eh, you get the point. trying to make a funny, but it's late.

But the use of guns were OK in his Rambo movies just so as long as the pay was good.

One of the companies on the list is no longer in business: ICN Biomedicals of Costa Mesa. They were broken up in 2003-2005 and the main building has been renovated for other uses.

This makes the article a little suspicious.

I guess Levi Strauss & Co. have decided to ignore their own contribution to the history of the USA. It’s OK we stopped buying them when they decided to charge $50 for a pair of jeans!

Sooo sad they are out of business. But we have a whole new generation of useful idiots waiting for their chance. Keep the faith and hope and change their diapers. Stand in line it’s good for you.
Move along nothing to see here.

Hal Linden, Boy the gun grabbers are really reaching out for support. Most people wouldn’t remember that name without an internet search. Are you still an actor if you haven’t done anything in thirty years? Same goes for Fanny Flagg and many others.

“charge $50 for a pair of jeans!”

Funny. I see Levi’s jeans for $15 at Ross and TJ Maxx but avoid them because they look like geezer wear.

With a few notable exceptions, the majority of the public performers are washed-up has-beens. Gotta say it stung to see Rebecca De Mornay’s name on the list. Damn she was hot back in the day. Guess it’s time to face reality and add her to that has-been list though.

What we are seeing is a resurgence of Nazi Germany, twenty-first century style, in the US.

If it continues it’s not going to be pretty sight in the “good old U.S.A.

I think it will become much worse before Obama’s term is over.

Just goes to show how right McCarthy was...

Hollywood remains a hotbed of communist influence, now new, improved, and wrapped in rainbows...

As an aside, considering there are some crazies out there who can't separate an actor from a character they played, wouldn't being that high-profile (even as a has-been) make you a member of a group more likely to receive death threats and the like?

These aren't "normal" people living "normal" lives, but a really skewed population.

Why should their opinions count for the rest of us who live considerably different and relatively underfunded lives?

But the use of guns were OK in his Rambo movies just so as long as the pay was good.

Actually, most of the Hollywood, Wall Street, and Beltway elite have private (or sometimes taxpayer-funded) security, along with any kind of weapons they want for their own personal enjoyment. It's another way for them to lord it over us. Also, if you live in any of those enclaves, you are automatically blackballed if you don't sign on.

The biggest thing they despise, but few will admit to, is some slightly-overweight, slightly-diabetic, and muchly-nearsighted nobody like me has over 40 years of experience with the AR15 platform, and can play it like an Amati (I know I will never be Strad-worthy) out to the round's effective ballistic limit. I have also retained much of what I've learned in "fieldcraft" from my Army and hunting days, and try to hone my more esoteric skills when a good class comes along.

I am also humble enough to admit that I can do better with a handgun than I can throwing rocks. Have their elite demonstrated their prowess to the extent that the elite LEO in the Herkimer PD showed the world with his elite "backwards Eotech"?

If Sam Colt wasn't credited for the term "the great equalizer", someone else would have been tagged. It all boils down to the rare situation in real life so aptly said by Clint Eastwood (whose name seems to be missing from this list), "Do ya feel lucky, punk? Well, do ya!" My best odds are always to trust my weapon and my proven skills over blind luck. YMMV.

What a shame and embarrassment these people are. Instead of solving the problem, They stand up like the mindless fools they are and go against the very people who support them. Trying to take away our Constitutional rights when they would not hesitate to hire people with guns or have guns themselves is convoluted thinking.

I am ashamed of them. I also hope they will soon realize before it is to late the regime does not care about them and they will suffer the same fate as the rest of us. They may feel all comfy and secure now; but not for long if they continue with this stupidity.

They need to read history, real history, and fire their PR people. They need to come out from behind their rose colored glasses and face realty before it hits them square in the face.

Lists of collaborators could come in very handy if the gov’t attempts to use force to remove the citizens’ ability to protect their families. These people think your family should be made vulnerable and at the same time assume theirs will be safe. They need to be informed about the reality of the situation.

The NRA use to also list businesses that contributed to anti-2nd Amendment clauses. I know in the late 80s, Oscar Meyer was listed, and I’ve boycotted their food products ever since. I have no idea what that status is now.

Which I am increasingly inclined to do without missing it one bit.

Wonder if SILVER DOLLAR CITY still has their gunmaker on site, or their shootout between the sheriffs and bandits, or their train robbery skit.

Otherwise I could care less when some organization with two members issues an anti-gun statement.

Britney Spears!? Comeon! Who looks to any of these fakes for instructions on how to live your own life, when they make their money pretending to be someone else, mouthing words written by someone else!

Boycotts are hard to make work for national companies, but there is one on the list that we could easily put the hurts too, Hallmark Cards.

Two/three weeks before every card-sending holiday send out a chain email reminding gun owners that Hallmark is anti-gun.

100 million lost customers would screw them pretty good.

There are hundreds of other card makers out there, so nobody has to give anything up.
