breitbart ^ | march 26, 2013

Posted on 03/26/2013 1:57:21 PM PDT by lowbridge

A school's decision to ban triangular flapjacks after a pupil was hurt has been labelled "half-baked" by the Health and Safety Executive. It follows an incident at Castle View School in Canvey Island, Essex, when a boy was hit in the face by a flapjack. Catering staff at the school have been told only to serve square or rectangular flapjacks. The school said the "isolated accident" had led to a review of "the texture and shape of the flapjacks" provided.

OMG. Will they outlaw Doritos? Triangular shaped scones? Wedges of cake, pie, quiche? Bugles? This could become HUGH and SERIES if this outrage spreads to the USA.

Somebody throws a flapjack and you ban flapjacks instead of punishing the thrower.

We're not in Kansas anymore.

One square equals two triangle’s - double the threat. Or, don’t bake them so hard in the first place. IOW, what’s to prevent some kid cutting a very crispy square waffle into two triangles and throwing them? Or, one crispy square waffle has four times the chance of hitting someone in the eye.

In human medicine, psychiatry, and law enforcement, it is widely and generally known that some individuals are indeed just bat guano crazy. I think it’s safe to say that as a nation Great Britain has fallen into this category.

If your pastries can be used as a weapon they’re overcooked, changing the shape won’t help.

Triangle and rectangular flapjacks?!? Either flapjack doesn’t mean pancake in the UK, or they are crazier than I thought.

LOL — the sheer stupidity of this decision actually has dumbfounded me. Its a Black Hole of bureacratic stupidity that just causes me to be speechless. This may be the most amazingly stupid, over-protective decision made by a school administrator anywhere.

Search this article in the British press and you’ll find some pretty amusing comments. The Independent’s are the best in my opinion.
