GOP strategist Karl Rove says he can imagine a Republican candidate in the next presidential campaign supporting gay marriage.

The statement from the former adviser to President George W. Bush appears to acknowledge that opposition to gay marriage has waned in some conservative circles.

Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, announced last week that he now supports gay marriage after learning one of his sons was gay.

Rove's comment was part of a panel discussion on ABC's "This Week." He did not elaborate.

The operative word for Politicians today is "evolution". You can lie to your teeth before the elections and then after you win, you can conveniently "evolve" your opinions. Now, Missouri Senator Clare McCaskill "evolved" into supporting gay marriage .

This has been their goal for a long time.

We need a new party ASAP. The way things are going, not many will defend traditional marriage because they are fishing for votes and it will not work.

Is Rove a little bit light in his loafers?

Which is why they want Roberts to make it a “right”.

Removes it from the election, and gives the GOP a solid “lock” on social cons now that abortion is starting to go the other way.

(Art.) The statement from the former adviser to President George W. Bush appears to acknowledge that opposition to gay marriage has waned in some conservative circles.

Bullcrap. Karl is just busy trying to take conscience off the menu again.

Not that he ever had one. No wonder the Bushes call him "Turd Blossom".

Oliver Stone implied that in his 2004 film, W. ... he gave Richard Dreyfuss (portraying Rove) a line identifying Rove as a gay man.

Who knows if it was true, or well-sourced. It would explain a lot of things Rove has done or been involved with going back beyond 2000, but then so would gay PAC money.

http://www.fairfaxunderground.com/forum/read/40/1121543.html

Mark Levin on his radio show the other night was ranting against Karl Rove’s new anti tea-party political group. Mark then dropped this b@mbshell; “Who died and made you Queen for a day? Yes, Karl, I said ‘Queen.’”

There have been rumors about Karl for years; remember his involvement getting fake reporter and gay prostitute Jeff Gannon (James Guckert) a White House Press pass?

Could Mark’s statement be equivalent to Bill Maher’s “Share the same bathhouses,” comment on now self-outed Ken Mehlman?

Makes no difference to me, I’ve been done voting for Republicans. I will vote for conservatives at the local level. There aren’t any true conservatives at the national level, and even when they talk a good game and say all the right things, they never fail to get co-opted if they win.

So let the GOP enjoy all the power it’s going to acquire from “reaching out” to groups whose very existence as such in the GOP undermines everything which gave me reason to vote for them. We’ll both find out if the trade-off was worth it for them, in terms of pure power. There’s no doubt it wasn’t worth it in the loss of principle and integrity, at least IMO.

"GOP strategist Karl Rove says he can imagine a Republican candidate in the next presidential campaign supporting gay marriage."

Of course he can.

And when social conservatives once again stay home in droves to avoid voting for the third consecutive liberal squish Republican Presidential candidate, he STILL won't get why he keeps losing.
