Conservatives Support for Marriage Equality Growing [retread zig zag zot!]
Human Rights Campaign ^ | Maureen McCarty

Today Meghan McCain and Margaret Hoover paired up to pen an op-ed for USA Today, calling on conservatives to support marriage equality.

In the article, McCain and Hoover outline the inevitable demise of anti-LGBT organizations and leadership, as country continues to shift support toward marriage equality.

They wrote:

Marriage is marriage, whether a person is straight or gay.

Marriage also promotes outcomes that we as conservatives should support: stable homes, with committed couples who take care of themselves without government intrusion. We know the benefits to society from healthy marriages, and we celebrate them. Our fellow Republicans should be strengthening this great institution--not stifling it with roadblocks.

Indeed marriage equality is largely becoming a bipartisan momentum across the country.

A record number of Americans--58 percent--support marriage equality. Just last week Ohio Republican Rob Portman reversed his own position to now support marriage equality legislation. And over 100 Republicans filed an amicus brief calling on the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn California’s Proposition 8....

Words have broadened, but this is a quantum leap and it is being pushed by a relatively few human activists. Individual members speaking each for himself, the homosexual set is as little in favor of “gay marriage” as they have ever been. But they’ve now been sold on the notion that politicking for it will somehow make homosexual life nicer for them.

ah, No.
It is not marriage equity.
When you read the questions asked, it’s more like support for civil unions or changes to tax laws and regs, items like that.
It is the press which says “marriage equity”.

What is stable about being bisexual? What is stable about being transgendered? If two bisexuals or transgendered get "married" will that make them "stable"? Will gays or lesbians getting married make their homes stable?

I'd say "go F yourself ", but it's a good bet that you do that (or try) anyway.

And please, do try to enjoy every single day of your self-inflicted self-hatred.

We need to imitate Jesus with the carrying of the Cross. Our path will certainly not be as drastic as His: abandoned by all, apparent silence or absence from God, whipped, mocked, nailed to the cross, and unjustly executed. But we will have days in which pain and discouragement will accumulate.

We cannot become discouraged during the pain, the injustice, the solitude, incomprehension, trials and the apparent triumph of evil against good, from lies against the truth, from death against life. Christ triumphed once and forever and those of us that trust in Him will continue to follow His path and participate in His victory forever. We need to center our lives, our trust and our actions in Him. He will not deceive us. We WILL live in truth and love with Him.

I couldn’t care less what polls say. A lot of the people polled never vote, watch the Colbert Report for news, and don’t know which country we declared independence from.
The Founders warned of democratic tyranny. Majorities are not inherently right on anything, and have gotten things horribly wrong in the past.

I refuse to vote for a candidate that voices support for same-sex marriages. Portman is a schmuck, a turncoat, a selfish RINO snake.

I saw one of these so-called conservatives on Fox News Sunday today. Who the hell are these losers? They’re former Bush-staffers. They’re Colin Powell-ites.
Gay marriage goes against everything conservatism stands for. Strong families? Are you kidding me? Does NOBODY read the health and habit statistics for homosexuals. Oh, no, that’s right. There was a coup inside the psychiatric circle to disregard science for this special interest group.
It’s not marriage equality. Marriage equality would recognize every single definition of marriage possible. This is simply carving out an exception for a coalition of deviant lobbyists.

Rove, these Bush retreads, Portman. They’re NOT conservatives. They NEVER have been. And any future presidential candidate should avoid them and their left wing politics like the plague.

Two more versions of meghan McPain exist.
One where she’s holding up a giant chocolate bar, another a magnum pack of trojans.
She complained about how mean people were after all three appeared.

The gay lobby's incessant use of the phrase 'marriage equality' is devilishly clever. It positions a deviant sexual behavior as something benign and makes the assumption that because gays insist on calling their perverse sexual couplings 'marriage' it is somehow unreasonable to deny them 'equality', as if their ersatz 'marriages' were anything but a mockery of normal, heterosexual marriage and a clear attempt to further undermine society by diluting the very meaning of the term 'marriage' and thus, weakening families, the core of all societies.

Hoover and McCain are RINOs belatedly jumping on the gay marriage bandwagon and thus, showing their obvious lack of moral conviction or political conservatism.

Love the cartoon...dead on.

Russia. They just banned homosexual propaganda, and will fine to the point of collapse, groups that promote it. With the head cut off the snake, the Russian homosexual lobby is dead in the water.

supporting Gay marriage gets politicians sympathetic TV coverage. TV is a sort of extortion racket; either support whatever leftist notion we TV people want or we’ll do a slime campaign against you.

TV can just about convince people of anything. Which is very dangerous.

I think TV is the real ruler of this country. Maybe the world.

Thank you very much for that reply to married21; I needed it also. Will print it and tape up for frequent reference. Some of us have almost given in to despair at times.
