On Tuesday, FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and her colleague VA Rep. Jim Moran openly whined about the impacts of spending cuts on their personal office budgets. Moran fretted that, with the looming sequester cuts, he may have to cut one staffer from his office. Wasserman Schultz upped his ante, however. She, almost literally, suggested that her staff were on the brink of starvation, due to the cuts.

Add to that the reports that Debbie Blabbermouth has ANOTHER home, a vacation home, in New Hampshire....and spent $30,000 on a cruise....and it sure looks like Debbie Blabbermouth has plenty of coin to spread to those starving staffers.

Come to think of it, Debbie Blabbermouth has to have a place to sleep in D.C. when she is there trying to destroy our Constitution...so I wonder where she lives there? Is it in a fancy hotel suite, like Dingy Hairy Reed?

One of my friends daughters works as an aide for Senator Orin Hatch in DC. He is one of then most popular members of congress to work for in Washington because he actually pays slightly more than the minimum wage.

One dirty little secret of congressional staff is that they have a mere handful who are paid well. The vast majority who do the grunt work make minimum wage (or slightly over in a few cases) or work as unpaid interns. These are mostly twenty something kids hoping for a career in DC or at least close to the power perks offered in some local congressional office or other government job. A few hang on into their thirties or beyond, often working some other job to make ends meet and keep their dreams alive. Think of all the wannabe Hollywood stars waiting tables and tending bar and you have the same parallel.

For the most part, these kids live four or six people to a cheap apartment (by DC standards) in a crime-ridden area along the green (subway) line.

Progressives like Wasserman-Schultz exploit these kids because the supply is plentiful. Hypocrisy means no more to them anymore than the Hollywood stars who bleat about the poor and downtrodden in public even while their lifestyles are maintained by people willing to work for a pittance just for a chance to get an opportunity to work for them.
