C. Edmund Wright: GOP Needs 'Reality'-based Consultants
Newsmax ^ | 3/20/2013 | Bill Hoffman

The Republican Party must oust its longtime consultants and replace them with advisers who come from a world of “reality," noted political columnist and author C. Edmund Wright.

“It’s not just Karl Rove [who] has certainly been, for about 12 or 13 years, the face of the establishment messaging machine," Wright — author of “WTF?: How Karl Rove and the Establishment Lost ... Again" — said on Newsmax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show."

"This is a group [of consultants] that called Newt Gingrich the devil and then turned around and called Obama a nice guy and they thought they could win an election that way. And it’s admirably absurd."

Wright said he had a private conversation with a major super PAC donor at the Conservative Political Action Conference gathering last weekend and urged him to “invest in some people besides Karl Rove."

Nothing admirable about the absurdity of the GOPe and their favored consultants. In unison with the analysis of Pat Caddell at CPAC, CEW's timely book blows the lid off of the incestuous losers who have directed the strategy, message and tactics of the GOP national campaigns. FAIL. It is time to change the 'consultants'.

Rove and Romney had no interest in WINNING.

They, again, were only concerned about
making $$$$$$$$$$$$ (hundreds of millions each)
and in destroying every conservative man and woman
who stood in the way of their partner, George Soros.

That was a bit of a mis quote from the interview....”admirably absurd”...the actual quote was “observably absurd” I think. It was a fast moving interview with Malzberg, and the writer did a good job pulling the money quotes....but that one word was off.

The GOP needs to stop pandering to Independents. Towards the end of the 2012 campaign, Romney started blabbing the “walk across the aisle” prattle. It was a killer. I am sure those dopey consultants were pushing that.

If you stand for something and remain tough, people will want to be a part of it.

The democrats will accuse you of raping your own mother, without evidence and without regrets.

Meanwhile, the GOP decides that Democrats are too well liked and we can’t “attack” them.

So we end up with a muslim/communist raised President with a muslim name, and no one dared say this guy was not right as president.

Amen bros - 100% correct - and the book chronicles 20 years of stories and anecdotes and analogy demonstrating exactly what you say. And I think the message is getting out. NUMBER ONE AMAZON BEST SELLER in Elections currently.

You have just demonstrated that you are way too smart to be a GOP establishment consultant.

As for Romney, they thought they were going to win and played it safe at the end. Their get out the vote software crashed, and certain conservatives stayed home. Let’s face it, most thought Romney would win.

However, the GOP should have been using surrogates to go after Obama and not let up until it sticks. Instead, they sat back and let democrats do it to Romney.

Rove is to the GOP what Al Gore is to the environmental movement: a wealthy carnival barker.

You know (yes, I'm sure you do), the other great and timely contrast, is between the analysis in your book and suggestions for what the GOP needs to succeed and this ...

Priebus's GOP Autopsy

The old adage ... 'Timing is Everything' ... may just be golden for you.

Everything done wrong pales compared to the glorification of Hilary Clinton which has now been performed by the GOP. And I’m sorry, but Sarah Palin participated in this thinking you could get the Hilary vote by praising her.

Hilary is a despicable stupid corrupt liberal, but they have immunized her for 2016.

This one says it all as far as I'm concerned .....

“This is a group [of consultants] that called Newt Gingrich the devil and then turned around and called Obama a nice guy ..."
