Lawmaker: 'They refuse to let us know what is going on'

Members of Congress are demanding the Obama administration explain why it is stockpiling a huge arsenal of ammunition and weapons.

The Department of Homeland Security bought more than 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition over the last year, as well as thousands of armored vehicles.

Did Hitler, Mao or Stalin’s administrations go around giving “tell-all” interviews to the press?

I heard a little bit of the tail end of the Mike Huckabee radio show, and he had a guest on there who was some sort of civilian contractor who did military/homeland security stuff, and claimed that word is out amongst deployed troops that the bamster is assembling his own private army stateside. Didn’t catch the guy’s name.

Congress should just assume one hollowpoint for each representative. Then they might want to get the finger out.

Damned right! Obama did mention in his first pres. campaign something about a large domestic army. Hope y’all have finished stockpiling. I have shot with some garden variety security feds before, and they were pretty pathetic.

Even the far-left is worried by the feds’ growing power.

WND reported four days ago that Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Code Pink, a left-wing “peace and social justice movement” known for its colorful marches and protests, told WABC host Aaron Klein the potential for the Obama administration to abuse its growing domestic police power is “extremely troubling.”

Klein asked Benjamin, author of “Drone Warfare: Killing by Remote Control,” if she was concerned that military-style drones now authorized to fly over U.S. skies could be used against American citizens, the same question that prompted U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., to filibuster in the Senate earlier this month.

“Very much so,” Benjamin replied. “We see a militarization of the U.S. police forces here in the United States, and it’s a very troubling tendency.”

Furthermore, Benjamin charged she was “upset” that liberal Democrats – who might question and fight the federal government’s growing police powers under a Republican administration – “have been very quiet when this is happening under Obama.”

This is good news, and we need to use this gift as much as we can. If the far left is getting concerned too, then the center is as well, except of course the low information voters. This is an issue where the American people can rally to our cause. Send McCain and Grahmn to the old folk's home, and come out strong on this issue. It is the right thing to do, it desperately needs to be done, and it is a tremendous winning issue.

Why does DHS need weapons of war? What an ignorant question.

They are preparing for civil unrest. They know it’s coming.

Well, Congress holds the purse strings (via the Constitution) for a reason, Mr. Representative. USE IT!! Threaten to defund HLS until they answer.

I’m no paragon of might, but my last trip through an airport was filled with TSA/HS types whom any 6 or 7 of which I could have broken in half. The government doth hire some sorry physical specimens of humanity to boot.

Very strange indeed. This government should be forced to answer... and the story I read months ago about the US government ordering thousands of concrete coffins. What was that about..This administration is acting bizarre so much they are frightening the people. He’s using executive orders to full-fill the agenda (one sided agenda/not, we, the united agenda) from his puppet master ( I say that because he is not doing this alone; he’s too immature). Simply by his own governance shows his character. This unfriendly stance towards Israel and this passionate yet creepy respect for the radicals he shows makes me distrust him more. I think Israel should protect themselves without Hussein Barrack Obama interference; because part of own our population does not even trust him here to protect us.

It sounds like they have no idea how much ammo, make or lot number on hand now. One manager was put in charge and this is the five year supply or a lifetime issue?

I don’t think it was these models in that this particular story was talking about. These are too nice.
