Lawmaker: 'They refuse to let us know what is going on'

Members of Congress are demanding the Obama administration explain why it is stockpiling a huge arsenal of ammunition and weapons.

The Department of Homeland Security bought more than 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition over the last year, as well as thousands of armored vehicles.

Well, Congress holds the purse strings (via the Constitution) for a reason, Mr. Representative.

He has Ben Bernanke for a reason as well.

Unless Congress wants to go full bore and investigate or impeach then this will continue.

We have not had a budget in 4 years and Congress doesn’t seem all that upset. We have been had.

I had a nightmare the other night that Obama distributed the billion of rounds of ammo and weapons to his urban areas supporters. He was telling them that they were his civilian militia that was as large and as well equipped as the US military. He was fulfilling his campaign promise and that he thought it was only fair that they have weapons and ammunition for the coming financial crisis. I had a hard time sleeping after that dream .

Nice image, but it shows ball ammo, not hollow points. (They don’t miss a chance to make their actions seem less dangerous, do they?)

Bingo! He’s not that smart. In fact, he was put in that position because he’s not very smart. Dummies can be controlled. A guy with any intelligence would figure out how to turn on them.

Benjamin charged she was “upset” that liberal Democrats – who might question and fight the federal government’s growing police powers under a Republican administration – “have been very quiet when this is happening under Obama.”

Funny how the Republicans are quiet when the Republicans emplace the mechanisms the Democrats use later, but raise holy hell when the Democrats try.

Power is dangerous, especially when the person who controls it can change.

We need to remember the Constitution is there to protect everyone's Rights and act accordingly, regardless of who proposes measures which go outside the lines.

They will likely be his cannon fodder, bullet traps, expendables. They still don't get it.

I think he's probably going to use street gangs for shock troops where he can. One more reason he was arming the Cartels.

i was told today by my congress-critters office (a republican) that they do not believe the ammo build up story.

he said he would need to see some documentation on the quantities that were bought.

has anyone seen any documentation or is it all just hearsay?

Seems to me if it were all a big bogus story without legs, wouldn’t the regime say as such? Or are they in favor of creating this climate of concern and fear?

DHS is a rogue agency. They need to be utterly defunded on a permanent and final basis.

The loyalists are going to need their militias as well. The King will provide the arms.

Well, Congress holds the purse strings (via the Constitution) for a reason, Mr. Representative. USE IT!! Threaten to defund HLS until they answer.

Congress had no problem agreeing cut our military by $487 Billion over ten years beginning in 2010, and again with Sequestration by $650 Billion over ten years.

Training is gutted, tuition assistance for our heroes was only re-instated yesterday via emergency funding, Operations and Maintenance money is short 40-60% across the services, 750,000 DoD civilians (from nurses to maintainers) are about to be furloughed, flying hours for all services have been cut to the bone, training for Army Brigade Combat Teams has been slashed 80%, and depot maintenance for all services is at a stand still.

But, Congress is allowing TSA to spend over $50 million on new uniforms and Homeland Security to by MRAP vehicles, weapons, and billions of rounds of ammunition.

Of course miltary has been cut. DHS wants as little resistance as possible to commit their genocide.

How ANYONE can stay in this country with news like this is beyond me!

These Reps need to get that info back home. Go around the media and talk directly to the people, gun groups and conservatives. Nobody likes the idea of an internal army.

Congress should simply declare 90% of the ammo surplus and order it sold at auction in 1000 round lots. I’d like to see that attached to the Continuing Resolution.

If Rand Paul is smart he’d make this a signature issue and bring these marginal votes round to our side in the presidential election.
