Mitch McConnell Votes to Fund Obamacare
Red State ^ | 3/21/2013 | Erick Erickson

Hey, remember that awesome CPAC speech by Mitch McConnell?

The one where Mitch McConnell said — and I quote — “Obamacare should be repealed root and branch. And we’re not backing down from this fight.”

And the same speech where Mitch McConnell also said, “This law is a disaster, and anybody who thinks we’ve moved beyond it is dead wrong.”

Well, as I told you, Mitch McConnell excels at saying one thing and doing another. Yesterday, Mitch McConnell voted to fund Obamacare.

Hey Utah, he joined Orrin Hatch in doing so. Remember, just last year on the campaign trail Orrin Hatch told you all how he was going to absolutely fight to rid us of Obamacare at all costs. And he got a large portion of the conservative movement to cheer him on as a result.

Yeah, that Orrin Hatch voted to fund Obamacare too.

And now for the punchline — the majority of the Republicans in the Senate voted against funding Obamacare. McConnell and Hatch were in the minority of Republicans who chose to side with the Democrats and fund Obamacare.

Here is the full list of the Republicans who voted for the Ted Cruz amendment to defund Obamacare, but then flipped their votes to actually vote to fund Obamacare : ◾Alexander (R-TN)

◾Barrasso (R-WY)

◾Blunt (R-MO)

◾Boozman (R-AR)

◾Chambliss (R-GA)

◾Coats (R-IN)

◾Cochran (R-MS)

◾Collins (R-ME)

◾Corker (R-TN)

◾Cornyn (R-TX)

◾Hatch (R-UT)

◾Hoeven (R-ND)

◾Isakson (R-GA)

◾Johanns (R-NE)

◾McConnell (R-KY)

◾Murkowski (R-AK)

◾Sessions (R-AL)

◾Shelby (R-AL)

◾Thune (R-SD)

◾Wicker (R-MS)

Keep paying your taxes, keep voting. Eventually something will change.

It’s cause they know they have their current healthcare plan for life which is exempt from Obamacare.

John Cornyn pisses me off!

I was hoping Ted Cruz's popularity would have an influence on the Sr. Senator from Texas, but it hasn't.

The time for CWII is near. The one party system needs to be ripped apart, along with the tyrants and traitors in Congress.

The time is well past time for CWII to start. I have been waiting since 2007 when "San Francisco values" took over Congress.

Perhaps the new conservative revolutionary government will take it away from them.

Some may lose more than their free health care.

“Sounds like a bad idea, Mitch needs to be primaried period. All a third party candidate gets you is a Hollywood Marxist as the new Senator from KY.”

Sorry FRiend, but the burden is on you, and other “Third Parties Just Don't Work” folks to tell us what staying Republicans has gotten us? ((Crickets)).

Sorry, but the GOP needs to die (politically)! If there ever was time for a third party (read: new GOP) it is now. The GOP is beyond saving at this point.

You want to hold onto this dream about taking the GOP back from the GOPe, well, you go right ahead. I'm done!

In Kentucky, prominent Democrats wooing Alison Lundergan Grimes, not Ashley Judd, March 19, 2013

You may not have to worry about Ashley Judd. Apparently some big league RATS think she's radioactive.

I cannot do it even if McConnell wins the primary. McConnell is voting just like Ashley the idiot would.

Money is still money and Mitch isn’t going to damage the commonwealth just to satisfy the current political mood. The Governor and the state assembly knows how damaging this would be to the budget and to large regional medical centers. You may call him a fool, but this was not a foolish vote.

They’re voting on a continuing resolution so the gov’t doesn’t get shut down and the media has a fit and blames the GOP.

The time to work on Obamacare is when the normal budget process collides with the next debt ceiling hike.

No, if the GOP doesn’t fight Obamacare now they never will.

It’s not shut down the government or nothing. The GOP could have voted to defund it and demanded the Dems account for the trillion dollar cost overruns before the pass the CR. Make them sweat for a few weeks. Let people see what liars & buffoons they are. But the beltway GOP won’t even do that.

The beltway GOP just won’t engage in the heavy lifting required to fight the Dem/media complex. They don’t have it in them.

Right now we have no credible opposition to the kenyan and this is the result. Another surrender.

Try reading my previous post again. If the GOP halts the gov’t by not passing the CR, then the media will crucify them.

They don’t have the leverage now. They will when the debt ceiling is up and they can force the Dems to produce a budget.

Even then, we are the minority in the Senate, so we can’t just “defund” and “demand” the Dems do anything.

It’s about governing, not throwing tantrums.

The Arsehole McConnell is running ads on talk radio at every commercial break where he states that ‘I have opposed Obamacare at every step of the way’.

What a lying sack! Amazing how you can sue a company for false advertising, but not a politician who continues to lie to our faces.

There’s no way to Primary McConnell - as much as I would wish. The Ruling Class machine here in KY will lay waste to anyone daring to unseat those in power. It’s the good ol’ boys network in conjunction with the Chicago machine.

I didn’t say the GOP had to shut down the gov. I said they had to fight. This is political warfare. The Dems are out to destroy us and control the country. They go about by battling every single day. I expect the same from the people I voted for.

Why is gay marriage and immigration dominating the news? Because the Dems don’t want to talk about the economy and no budget barack. Why is the beltway GOP letting them set the agenda WITHOUT a fight?

My main issue with the GOP isn’t the losing. I know the GOP is a minority. The problem is the lack of fight. Being lead from one crisis to the next by the nose.

We have had numerous new reports of the exploding cost estimates for kenyancare in recent days. Now is an appropriate time to slow the train and press the dems. But Boehner and McConnell refused to fight. Like always. That’s why they lose.
