OMG, you haven’t lived until you’ve eaten a Little Debbie’s Nutty Bar. It’s kind of like a sugar wafer, with peanut butter cream filling, dipped in chocolate. Heavenly!

It sounds good, but I’ll be a Twix is better, even though it doesn’t have peanut butter. :)

And on a hot Summer day, try them frozen, or at least refrigerated. Better than a Popsicle.

I thought the whole point of going through this process was to scrape the union parasites off the bottoms of their shoes? Now, they’ll just be inheriting the problem that sunk the company to begin with.

The story of the Metropoulos family is pretty amazing.
They have a long history of buying old food-related brands, fixing whatever went wrong with them and then either continuing to operate them or sell them.
A man, his wife and 2 sons steer the whole empire.
Dad and Mom were Greek immigrants.
If anybody understands food, it is the Greeks, and this particular family is worth billions.

Where do they operate?
Will they take the brand manufacturing to right to work states and end the union stranglehold?

Thanks. I hadn’t considered the possibility that the Union was just telling us a somewhat enhanced version of the truth. (Shame on me, I know.) Nor had I properly considered the differences between “reorganizing” and “liquidation”. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I hope someone posts update threads, on occasion.

Can you even buy a Lowenbrau any more? Most definitely, and it's produced in Germany and tastes jut like the original--at least the original that's produced for export. Miller didn't buy the brand; just a license to produce it in the U.S. And yes, within a year or so it was indistinguishable from crap American beer. No one was going to pay a premium price for something no better than PBR, and so the Millerized version didn't last.

They will do whatever they have to do in order to preserve capital and make a return.
