Schlafly: GOP Establishment Gave Us Losers Like Dole, McCain and Romney
Cybercast News Service ^ | March 18, 2013 | Melanie Hunter

Conservative legend Phyllis Schlafly told the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday that the Republican establishment had given America a series of losers as presidential candidates over the last two decades—and the last time they picked a winner, George W. Bush, he was a bigger spender than the Democrats.

“Why is it that the establishment has given us this bunch of losers?” Schlafly said. “The establishment has given us a whole series of losers: Bob Dole and John McCain and Mitt Romney.” …

Schlafly said the establishment wants candidates that “will only talk about economic issues” and not social or moral issues or even national security issues. “And that’s such a terrible mistake, because those social issues are the cause of the fiscal issue, and they are the issues that get to the heart of people—issues like life and marriage.” …

Phyllis Schafly is the ONLY person I know who hasn’t changed or softened her positions over the years and she even has a gay son!! Most people lose the energy to fight Satan over the years, but as far as I can tell she hasn;t. God Bless you, Mrs. Schafly.

If you truly want to lead, you don’t take polls or put your finger to the wind. You get out in front of an issue and win it on reason and argument.

If we’d just listened to the MSM and liberal thinkers we’d have given up our gun rights and accepted abortion way back in the 70s. The fight for right is worth it.

People like Rand Paul are part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Washington consumes everyone into a black hole.

W was not a winner. He lost the popular vote to, of all people, Gore, and almost lost the electoral vote, too.

So far the problem is measured in trillions and the solution in parts per trillion. When will the solution show up?

I’ve yet to find the perfect candidate. My concern is that we need to win, I’m not calling for surrender. Schafly’s correct that we’ve been given a series losers. If Rand Paul wins and does nothing but shut down a single department that’s better than what we’ve gotten out of the last dozen presidents.

Until every patriot reads Alinsky’s rules for radicals and uses same to regain power things will only get worse. Bo is leading the left on America and we tuck tail in submission, let them divide all his opponents, and suck the economic life and liberty right out of the country.

Dole, McCain and Romney. Natural progression. Bloomberg next. The Roves of the G.O.P. say the party is not liberal enough.

Phyllis took on Nixon, Ford and Carter when she opposed the “Equal Rights Amendment” in the 1970’s.

And she won.......

She told the crowd at CPAC on Saturday to stick with the Republican Party in spite of what’s going on.

That’s a hard pill for many to swallow nowadays.......

I’m keeping my options open.

So the guy who stood up for our constitutional liberty on the Senate floor and who spent less than budgeted on his office and staff then returned the unused portion, he’s part of the problem?

You are why the GOP is a dead political party with no future.

When the horse is dead, it's time to dismount.

” - - - If you truly want to lead, you don’t take polls or put your finger to the wind. - - - “

BUMP!

This is the main problem with multiple term Congressional politicians: they are always looking over their shoulders, counting votes to try and “get something, ANYTHING, done.”

The result is that there is no leadership, just a drift to the Left into the oldest form of governance, which is slavery.

BTW, if your total taxes, (Local, State and Federal), taxes are 50 %, then you work until lunch EVERYDAY as a slave to the Tax Master.

RE Schlafly: GOP Establishment Gave Us Losers Like Dole, McCain and Romney

I personally could see when those three were nominated that none of them were appealing candidates and would probably lose, but in the case of 2012 the other GOP alternatives were very weak candidates.

I love Schlafly but that was an underlying problem she must see : Newt and Santurum were also very flawed candidates who would also lose so that gave the GOPe an argument to shove Romney in, and they did.

I see Coulter now flipped back on Romney and Christie, now she doesn't like them anymore. Now there's a weather-vane.

The GOPe have been pushing loser candidates, but as in 2012, the line of wannabe so-called conservatives left much to be desired.

The kind of wacky Rep.
The gotta get the wife’s permission Gov.
The I’ll eliminate 3 departments, but I can’t remember the 3rd Gov.
The talkshow host who ‘categorically rejected the allegations’ that he had inappropriate situations with female employees.
The wealthy guy who thought he had Obama by the birth certificate but decided his TV show was more advantageous than the Oval Office.
The guy who lost his Senate seat in an election.
The guy who resigned from his Speakership and basically walked away from his House seat.

Yeah, it was a real stellar group claiming to be the conservatives.

So, the GOP got stuck with the ‘okay Candy, I won’t mention Benghazi again’ candidate.
