Public support for gay marriage has hit a new high as Americans increasingly see homosexuality not as a choice but as a way some people are, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
The poll shows that 58 percent of Americans now believe it should be legal for gay and lesbian couples to get married; 36 percent say it should be illegal. Public attitudes toward gay marriage are a mirror image of what they were a decade ago: in 2003, 37 percent favored gay nuptials, and 55 percent opposed them.
The Supreme Court takes up the issue of gay marriage next week, and nearly two-thirds of all Americans say the matter should be decided for all states on the basis of the U.S. Constitution, not with each state making its own laws.
Among young adults age 18 to 29, support for gay marriage is overwhelming, hitting a record high of 81 percent in the new poll. Support has also been increasing among older adults, but those aged 65 years old and up remain opposed, on balance: 44 percent say same-sex marriage should be legal; 50 percent say illegal.
A slim majority of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents under 50 years old now support gay marriage. Nearly seven in 10 of those aged 65 and up oppose it, although that is down from more than eight in 10 just four years ago.
There has been a related movement in public opinion about homosexuality. Fully 62 percent of Americans now say being gay is just the way some people are, not something people choose to be. About 20 years ago, fewer than half of the public said so.

I was once an alcoholic. One drink was too many, and one drink was never enough.
The psychs and social workers say it was a form of compulsive-obsessive behavior, that it was a disease, that I was born that way and couldn’t help it.
But they still had programs and clinics to help me stop. There were even drugs and vitamins to help me stop.
The only thing that stopped me was giving my heart and life to Jesus Christ. The craving was gone. The desire was gone.
I understand now that what the psychs and social workers were doing was medicalizing *SIN*.
If people only knew what the coprophiles do to vector diseases and what they cost healthcare they would run all these perverts back into the mental institutions. Homowood has simply done the marketing of deviance by placing a veil over what these disgusting perverts do to themselves and children.

Pseudo Christian pastor and author, Rob Bell, came out in support of gay marriage yesterday... in San Francisco. Bell has a cult like following, and I highly suspect he will come out of the closet in the next few years.
Of course because no-one argues any differently. Republicans have given up arguing against the idea that gay is the same as being say black, as a racial minority discriminated against.
Dems are the only ones who have been making a public case on it.

You hit the core of the issue. We would all do well to start with ourselves to solve it.
The USA was not made to be a Democracy. Our Founding Fathers understood Democracies were anarchy and therefore they built us Republic.

Look around you and convert the percentages they claim into numbers. 10% is one person out of every ten. Does anyone believe there are that many homosexuals in the general population?
No matter the propaganda, and whatever they want to call it, it isn't "marriage" (a sacramental union in the presence of The Almighty), and it never will be.

Biologically homosexuality is a disease as it hinders reproduction.
Its a simple as that, and no evolutionary biologist can honestly tell you otherwise without attempting trying to claim this defect benefits kin somehow enough to offset its devastating cost to the defect holder. A very difficult to image trade off.
I remember having this stuff shoved down my throat in school, With gay-strait alliance.
None of them at the time wanted to own up to the very simple and real biological fact that homosexuality is functionally a disease as it hinders reproduction.
There is no rationally to their position it is supported entirely upon emotional doctrine based in a twisted idea of equality that could just as easily be applied to any and all other diseases.
