In a statement posted on the front page of their website, officials at the Green Street United Methodist Church said that they ask other churches to join in the movement to “refuse to sign any State marriage licenses until this right is granted to same- sex couples.”

In the full version of their statement - publicly posted on their website – the church asks that services such as premarital counseling be offered to couples of all orientations, in addition to other couple-specific services.

But they’re saying something that the liberal media wants to hear. Therefore, they are “worthy of public attention”-

Only that it’s not an ELCA Lutheran, PCUSA Presbyterian, UCC United Church of Christ, or Episcopagan congregation.

The experience in worship is a blend of traditional Methodist liturgy, free-church African American influence, Hispanic culture, social gospel, all stuck together with a jazz-fused gravy.

I'm not sure what this is supposed to be, but certainly has nothing to do with worshiping God.

With 160 people in church on any given Sunday they don't have much of a musician pool and have to take what they get, so I'm thinking that the worship team consists of grandma on the organ (Methodist liturgy), a black guy on bass (free-church AA), a Mexican on the bongos (sorry, "percussion"), 3 lesbians in the choir (social gospel), and an old hippy on electric guitar making a mess of it all (jazz-fused gravy).

I thought I heard or read that the more conservative side won last time thanks largely to the influence of Methodists from Africa?

Any congregation with democrats in them are just that evil..
ANY... including roman catholic churches....

The degree that democrats have infested those churches is the degree that those churches have serious problems..

NO democrats brings much less problems.. the same goes with RINOS to a lessor degree..

And the problem exists whether a republican is a republican or a democrat..
Not all republicans are republicans..

And if the pastor or priest or cardinal is a democrat..
The problems become fully ingrained in the institution..

Being a democrat to any degree is a spiritual virus..

That church might as well start with goat sacrifices on the alter and chantings to Baal while they are at it. They’ve made themselves a House of evil.

Interesting doctrine at that Methodist Church. If the state legalizes the murder of born alive infants will the Methodists bless that as well?

I left UMC in the 70s when they came out all for gun control. A Border Patrol buddy left in the 90s when they were all for illegal immigration. Keep pruning off the various regular people and cater to the irregulars, UMC.

As much as I bash Minnesota, I must give credit to some congregations that were formerly ELCA, parting company due to this abomination. The rural UMC congregations may need to do the same. Part of what goes into the collection plate goes to support this nonsense, as part of being within that denomination.
Looking at the respective headquarters, ELCA, ECUSA, PCUSA, UMC, and UCC are functionally apostate.

I fought and fought for my Methodist Church which kept being invaded by evil, but then when I needed help, no one would help me. I left then, brokenhearted and went back to the Catholic Church where at least there is a mission to the poor. I don’t relax there either though, always on the lookout for the evil.

My grandmother left the church she had been attending for 30 years over their stance on gay marriage and female pastors.

Just a thought;
When your Church changes, change churches.
United Methodist Church had been heading this way for a long time.
I wonder just how the old EUB members feel.

Probably the same as we and the people in Harrisburg felt back in 1969.
Sold down the river.

“I left UMC in the 70s when they came out all for gun control.”

Did they attempt any Biblical justification for that position?

***Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.*** - Mat 7:21-23 KJV
