Rove Fires Back after Palin’s Blistering CPAC Speech

Karl Rove sought to turn the tables Sunday on Sarah Palin, jabbing her for stepping down early as Alaska governor, a day after she blistered the GOP consultant in a speech at CPAC.

Palin launched a broadside against the GOP establishment on Saturday at the gathering of conservatives, but directed her sharpest aim at Rove, reports Huffington Post.

“If these experts who keep losing elections and keep getting rehired and getting millions — if they feel that strong about who gets to run in this party, then they should buck-up or stay in the truck,” Palin told CPAC Saturday, according to the publication. “The Architect can head on back to the great Lone Star State and put their name on some ballot — though for their sakes, I hope they give themselves a discount on their consulting services.”

Rove, who was nicknamed “The Architect” by President George W. Bush, pushed back against Palin on Fox News, said the publication.

“I appreciate encouragement I ought to go home to Texas and run for office and, it would be news if I did to have her support. But I don’t think I’m a good candidate — a kind of balding, fat guy,” Rove said, as reported by Huffington Post. “And second, if I did run for office and win, I would serve out my term and I wouldn't leave office midterm.”

Palin resigned as governor in 2009, halfway through her first term in office.

Tokyo Rove has mommy issues and gay issues. Ask his 2 ex wives. His mom never married his real daddy and killed herself. His stepfather who raised him was gay. Rove’s a conflicted one who really needs to seek therapy and get over his misogyny.

"I’ve heard a lot of hearsay about the reasons, but she hasn’t made it clear to my satisfaction that it was a necessary step."

So, does that make you the king of substantiation? I suppose you are the same type that believes that we never made it to the moon, just because you were never there. Or maybe that the sinking of the Titanic was just a fable until they actually found the ship.

What is the practical difference, Einstein?

Splitting hairs on a calendar does not advance the cause of quitters and conservatism, get over it.

how about the stories of several “ethics” lawsuites filed against her and her husband,by democrat activists, all thrown out but she had to pay for all legal work - by Alaska state law. At the time she resigned her legal bills where said to be over 300K.

Telling Rove to go back to Texas? Touché. Barbara Bush told her to go back to Alaska.

...but she hasn’t made it clear to my satisfaction that it was a necessary step.

Then, in all honesty, you weren't paying attention.

Under Alaskan state law, the governor is vulnerable to certain legal actions -- but the state could not involve itself in the governor's defense. A number of frivolous suits had been brought, accordingly.

As a private citizen, she had access to the protection of libel laws and could set up a legal defense fund.

Remaining the governor would have driven the Palins into bankruptcy and, at the same time, handcuffed the state's policy machinery.

I have no idea why this man is still on the political landscape. Or the Clintons, or any of these people whose time is up. When your term is over, or your man or woman is no longer in office, get a real job, move on, retire, go fishing.

I would not expect an objective conversation from vette6387. Not sure he/she is interested in the facts.

None of what you posted is “new” news! The idea that the RATs could “drive her from the governor’s office” really doesn’t fly with me. I can’t imagine that someone with her charisma and bona fides couldn’t put together a PAC or find enough money to deal with these people is nonsense. If today, you can, use FOIA to drive a politician out of his or her office, why isn’t it being done wholesale around the country? One of the @$$holes that was bothering her was some school teacher, I mean come on! I am sure people tried this tactic on Ronald Reagan and other conservatives. How come she’s the only one who has had to fold her tent? Don’t misunderstand me, I like Sarah. She made McLame almost bearable as a candidate, but if she’s going to be effective, she can’t cut and run at the first sign of trouble which is what she did. I personally think she saw the path she took led to a bunch of money and took it!

“So, does that make you the king of substantiation? “

No, not at all, but as I just replied to another poster, if the FOIA can be used to drive a sitting governor out of office, why don’t we see this tactic being used by the RATs everywhere.
I understand that the “Sarah Lovers” here on FR get their panties in a wad any time someone asks a probing question about her, but personally, I don’t buy what’s been sold as the truth. Oh, well, if she was out of money as governor, she sure isn’t any more. Anyone who doesn’t have the financial backing to take on the RAT jackals, isn’t anyone I’d want to see in the White House.

I suppose that gives us the option to believe your view of hearsay as much as you believing what came out of her own mouth. Geez, so why would anyone base an opinion on hearsay when they can hear it from the horse’s mouth? But then again, it is obvious that you care nothing about that.

The reason she left was largely due to the phony ethical complaints that the state of Alaska had to respond to and that cost Alaska $$$$$. It also practically defunded the Palin family. She probably felt like much of her term was done she basically had less than a year and a half left in her term so she could say she did it to save Alaska $$$$$ which it did. I personally made a point of following the Alaska media after the 2008 election to follow what was going on up there because one knew that the dem party would target her using any means neccessary to destroy her. The phony ethical complaints which cost money to defend and respond to was tactic #1. A perfect example was she would go out of state to a governors meeting and some leftist somewhere would file an ethics complaint saying she was not attending to state business by being out of state. It would have been nice if the nat’l republican party would have done something to defend Palin on the political hit job by the left but they did nothing. So Palin has a choice. Does she spend endless amounts of time dealing with these phony ethical complaints which were literally never going to end. If fact there were phony ethical complaints still going on even after she left office. And there is ample evidence that high up operatiuves in the dem party were pulling strings to do this to Palin. So should Palin stay if the govornorship and have her personal wealth defunded by quite frankly liberal facists or does she resign since most of what she had on her agenda was larely done (pipeline etc..). The left thought for sure her career was over when she resigned and all she’s done is arguably be the most influential republican in helping the republicans win the house in 2010 and of course sell about 4 million more books than most liberal writers will ever sell. Well that’s my take on it. If she runs in 2016 she’ll obviously will need to have an answer to respond to that question but that’s generally how I see it.

Rove does have a point about Palin’s abandoning her office. I’ve heard a lot of hearsay about the reasons, but she hasn’t made it clear to my satisfaction that it was a necessary step.

No, Rove has no points in this matter. Rove and the RNC stood by and watched without lifting a finger. Meanwhile Rove backs the GOPe and tries to screw over the base. Rove is what Mark Levin calls “syphilis on the body politic”.

Hearsay? Hasn’t made it clear? Not to your satisfaction? What in the Frack do you need? A note from her mommy? Sheesh! Been under a rock for the last few years? She spells it out clearly in her book and Bannon spells it out very clearly in the documentary “The Undefeated”.

1. Nearly 600k in legal bills,

2. Spending her time fending off FOIA requests (aka: 24,000 emails and personal information). Lets not forget the email hacking.

3. Countless bogus ethics complaints from the “Alaskan Mudflats,” a group who used false names on their complaints, made stuff up and suffered NO PENALTY for false accusations. They openly admitted that their goal was to paralyze and bankrupt her.

In one complaint, prosecuted by a lawyer who worked on Obama’s team, an ethics investigation was initiated against her legal defense fund. It doesn’t get worse than that.

At current projections, if she stayed, she was looking at over a million dollars in legal bills. Any help from the GOP? Nope. Any word from the GOP to tell the state senators to help? Nope. Any support from the right wing talking heads at FOX? Nope. The only help came from her supporters in the lower 48 and a few talk radio hosts (not to mention liberal lawyer Alan Dershowitz).

Gabby Giffords shooting? All those GOP superstars ran into the tall grass. She leaves office? Only snickers from Rove and company. She helps conservatives in 2010 and 2012 and the “smart people” tell her to get lost. Yeah, I’m really feeling the love from Rove and his sycophants.

...and of course from vette6387’s recent post.

4. The Alaska statehouse locked her out of any passage of future bills/plans she wanted to introduce. Dems were told by the DNC that if they helped Palin, they would get primaried big time and all help cut off. Pubs were told to stay away from Palin so as to return the good old days of the CBC (corrupt bastards club, which Palin help curtail in her governorship).

Had she stayed, no doubt people would complain about all the ethics complaints, her legal debts and how she couldn’t do anything in that statehouse in her last 18 months. Her help in the 2010 and 2012 elections would be non-existent and I’m sure Rove would find something new to bitch about (they always do because they such good whores after all).

5. Fire bombing her church. Countless harassment. Death threats.

Too many people on the right suffer from Stockholm Syndrome. They are so whipped by pop culture and MSM sneers that they sit down and shut up to the point of surrender. In time, such wimps get programed that since “Rove/GOPe/Hollywood/MSM have issues with (name of conservative) then surely it must be true (whimper...whimper). As a result the base “settles” for the “safe” choice which often screws us in the end. Mitt only got a taste of the Palin treatment and he folded like a cheap suit.

Palin isn’t good enough for ya? Trust me bucko, when your guy/gal goes through the shredder, don’t go cryin to us. Don’t go complaining when gates of Mordor open up on them.

And even still, after all the crap Palin’s received, she still fights, engages in POP CULTURE and rallies the base. I can’t say that of the GOP these days.

“I would not expect an objective conversation from vette6387. Not sure he/she is interested in the facts.”

How so? Looks like the “Sarah Groupies” are at their keyboards tonight! She should have found a way to stay through her term as governor. Quitting was the kiss of death for her to do anything substantial in the future by way of elective office. But then, she’s an excellent speaker and can use those skills to whip up the conservative troops. I am glad she took a poke at Tokyo Rove @ CPAC, my view is that we are where we are today because of the Bushes. I hope she uses the stump to torpedo the “Third Turd” in the Bush camp.
BTW, just what is not objective about questioning this situation? It’s not any different I guess than if you were a FUBO supporter, always on guard for someone questioning “The Magic Negro.”
